Ha! I have one bit of caution for you my friend . . . Tombarra WILL unload your car in six short days. After that, I'm afraid you'll be in the real hell of CN's black hole. Save whatever patience and sanity you have until then!

I know man!

I think I read somewhere that for ED cars, they truck it directly from the port to dealer. Is this accurate?

I haven't heard that and I really don't know. I'm in the States and everything goes by truck here. I happen to have a pretty close connection to Halifax and have seen the CN rail yards there all my life with those loooong car trains. But mostly I've read a bunch of posts about cars going into black holes for weeks after they've been unloaded, with no one having any idea when they'll arrive at the dealerships. So hopefully no work slowdowns, no strikes, and a quick transport for you!

That's odd. I'm not familiar with that site. Is it live tracking on that route?

I'm watching too...

Bought my last BMW in Boston and it took 3 days from arrival at NYC Port to arrival at Dealer, but no installed port accessories.

I've tracked more ships than I want to admit cross the Atlantic and I've never seen anything like that before. Keep watching for us. The green line appears to be the anticipated track rather than the actual track, so let's see whether the ship actually turns north like that. Also note that the ETA which was sent by Tombarra earlier today has not changed to reflect a longer route.

My average from port to the Boston area is 3 days to a week, although I did have one stuck at port for a couple of weeks. It turned out that the car was damaged in transport and repair work was being done. That was not a good phone call! It will be interesting to see how our cars hare handled and whether they transport EDs earlier or later than regular sold cars.

I'll bet the actual track continues straight into Halifax and it arrives on schedule. However, when my last Porsche came over, the ship waited outside Halifax harbor for almost two days before it finally went in, so who knows??

I think we'll know in a day or so whether the ship turns WNW towards Newfoundland. I'm still betting on a WSW straight-in track.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the site's calculated arrival time. I think it's just calculating a time and date based on the ship's current speed and distance to go. I'd focus on what the ship is sending out as its ETA. I would guess it takes into consideration what the captain knows about the ship's track as well as the harbormaster's traffic control plan. Ships that size don't just show up at the mouth of a harbor and glide into a dock without a lot of planning and help.

As long as they don't mix up our SO F82s, you should see your car within a week of docking in NY (currently scheduled for Nov 8).
