Thanks to all of you for the useful info. I have pm'ed my Vin as my car is on Torino ETA Halifax next Monday but BMW Laval told me I get it July 17th so I don't get it why so long... I read all Canadian tracking threads so I get the general idea.

Hi all. This is great info. I would love to ask (with many thanks in advance!) if @E92LNGCGY would be able to get me an update on my car. It was delivered to Halifax port on Jun 24th, and I'm told it is in transit but can't see it on Hansen's site. I'm a new joiner after reading this thread, so can't pm yet, but happy to pass on my VIN when possible.
Thanks, |

....or you actually get the car, in which case who cares about the VIN again?

For those us poor souls still waiting, the VIN is the only real thing that keeps us going

In my case it was shown in the database for the first time on the car production date (on the day when the production was finished). YMMV. |

Anyone have an idea of what the average wait is from finished production to Toronto? |

If I take a pic from before I ordered my car and now, I look like I aged years from the stress and anticipation and constant checking and tracking and posting.
So take my advice and don't check |

So my car has finished production and my dealer sent me a screen capture of his screen with the status "90- Shipped from factory 01 - Munich". I want to track it, and know which boat it's going to be on and planned date if departure from Germany. How can I get this information? My dealer says that he doesn't have it. Is there no information yet? Or can someone explain how my dealer can get this info.
Thanks for the help |

With your VIN, go to the webpage for W&W shipping (they seem to do 95% of the shipping to Canada) and search the VIN in the tracking number. Once it is received by them, they will start to update you on the progress. Once you know the vessel you can even watch your ship move around a bit (off the coast of Europe as it goes port to port and, ultimately, as it hits the east coast of Canada too)

Is it already at the dealer, or it just off the train? Once it's off the train, it generally gets put on a Hansen's truck and taken to the dealership. This can take anywhere from 1 to 7 days, depending on their schedule (mine took 6 days to make the 2 hour trek from Montreal to Ottawa ... it was horribly painful). Go to https://www.lhf.com/ and search for your VIN. Once the shipment has been booked, the site will have the departure and expected delivery dates.
Once it arrives at the dealer, they'll need a day or two to prep it.

Its at Concord still from the looks of it. The wait is ridiculous, its so close that I could literally drive and pick it up myself before they truck it over to the dealer. It arrived on the 25th so looks like I wont get it by Saturday. So close!

Well, my friend. 1 year ago, exactly around this time, my car got to Concord as well. Due to the long weekend and the stupidity that BMW does not pre-book all legs of the transport , your car will only be booked to be trucked to dealership when it gets off the train and after inspection (i.e. received by the auto dock here in Toronto). Thus, your car will likely arrive at the dealership after the weekend (hopefully before the long weekend). I was so pissed because last year , the long weekend was amazingly beautiful and would have loved to be able to drive a brand new M4 during the weekend, but nope, had to wait till Tuesday. Luckily, the awesome Endras (namely Jason) was able to PDI my car in 1 day so I took delivery Wednesday... its been a dream ever since.
Hang in there, I know your pain, but the reward, is sooooo worth it. p.s. you can try calling lhf after it shows up on their website, but they will likely tell you there is no truck and you will have to wait for the scheduled delivery. The date on their website is a worst case scenario, so usually it gets there 1 day before ... ish? |

My car now says discharged on the shipping status. All I got from the dealer (from BMW Canada) is 3 weeks or so! - is there anything I can do to track / expedite things or has it now descended into a black hole?
There are many things I like about Canada but the 60s technology... |
