Le Mans blue is great and very light sensitive. Here it is in the shade and then direct sunlight..... The change from M3 to 330d wasn't too bad. The 330d is no slouch and in-gear from 40-80 isn't too far behind. Of course, the M3 sounded fantastic, handled very well and is a bit of an icon. This is my 4th 330d Sport, and i suppose you could say that I really like them as an all round package. Some of my other cars have been quicker, handled better, stopped better, but overall the d still puts a smile on my face. That's the most important thing. BTW, Sparkling Graphite was my first choice of colour, but I couldn't find a 330d M Sport manual in that colour anywhere in the UK. It's a great choice. I'd had silvers and greys for a while so fancied a change. Cheers Matt |

Fantastic pics ... and not just the paint that changes colour in the sun ... look at the alloy bightness
Nice to hear you thoroughly enjoy your 330d and it does give you that "wow" factor when you drive it. The blue is stunning though .. but nice to know you also like the Graphite ... both colours really do suit the car. You should be commended on the shine you have on that car though ... very impressive ps: I also like how the diffuser stands out on the blue, with it being black / grey ! .. makes a real feature of it ! |

350z
Yup I have heard of some stories regarding the Nissan and in some ways you always see one on the road and think............hmmmmmmm what if?
But yeah a neighbour at my folks has a "Tic Tac" orange 350z and he has had buckets of issues and dealer problems, can never say the that for my beemers......... I had NO regrets at all with my E46 coupe, loved it to bits, my current E90 330d is no slouch either, fast, frugal and practical - and yes the Le Man's is a terrific colour, but a prize pig in the "need to wash it" stakes, it needs to be kept clean! Now I just have to convince mysely I don't NEED to part ex to the E92 coupe |

Once a BMW driver always a BMW driver? I don't think so. Personally I've gone away and come back again, but there are too many other good cars out there to try. An M5 is near the top of my wish list for future ownership though!

I got very BMW "homesick" and when the chance came up to drive an E90, I jumped at it. Not sure I would ever want to drive another make again.

I hope you're keeping the 911 when you get the 335 and then the M3!

I swapped the M3 for the 911 about 18 months ago. I guess a few people will say I’m mad for changing the 911 for the 335 now, however I haven’t found the Porsche owning experience that great, combination of a car with issues and a dealer that seems unable to solve them. In fact the dealer has left me very unimpressed but that’s another story. I had two E46 M3’s and found moving to the 911 quite a change, very little difference in the straight line performance but the handling on the 911 is just superb and in the wet the it is unstoppable, as a point to point driving tool I believe there is little to beat it for the money. However, with my driving style, it eats tyres, pads, discs, fuel and has a fair few expenses to come so have recently been wondering if it is worth holding onto, so started looking at my options. I drove the E92 335i and just think it is a fantastic car for the money, I found straight line performance to be in the same league, the handling isn’t the same obviously but was certainly better than I was expecting. I believe the 335i comprises the best of both worlds of performance and everyday usability, well until the E92 M3 comes along anyway. Once I take delivery I’ll post a few more of my thoughts on the differences between the E46 M3, 911 and 335, one test drive (with 3 occupants) wouldn’t do any of them justice. I did a have a period in the wifes 51 plate Golf as she started to drive (and still does) my MINI Cooper S.
Previous to that was a Porsche Boxster S I remember the pain of waiting 18 months for it to be delivered

Most recent first:
2005 E46 330ci M Sport (2006 - ) 2003 E46 318i SE (2003 - 2006) 1999 Ford Focus 2.0i (1999 - 2003) 1997 Ford Fiesta 1.4 Chicane (1997 - 1999) 1991 Ford Fiesta 1.1 L (1995 - 1997) When I was 18 I had a clapped out old Peugeot 305 - no idea what plate or year. It was held together by rust, fumes used to come into the back of the car through the parcel shelf and one day the tape player just stopped working for no reason. The tape player was the last straw so I sold it for £50 and went without a car until I finished University.

I'm going off topic here but last point is interesting... who do you let drive your car. I'm very cautious about letting anyone drive mine, and its only really good friends that I can trust (can count them with fingers on 1 hand )!!
