By Z4 you mean the one at 4:44, I'm pretty sure that's the e92 m3 dtm or some kind of race version.

It went by so fast, I wasn't sure if it was a DTM M3 or Z4.

Did it seem to anyone else like the driver was short shifting too much?

Cheers.

Why do I get the feeling that an AY F82 with a pissed of driver would be stuck behind cussing his slow speed? He drives like I do in a boring milk run

You are correct. No DTM car in America, RLL it is.

I guess power does drop off at higher rpm, so it's better to short shift.

Not really... I don't think the driver was pushing it very hard. Road America is my home track and I am in the high 2:40's during HPDE and my instructors were in the high 2:20's.

I am still a beginner and I know I could easily make up at least 1 second per corner if I was more confident
