Custom dumps at the downpipes. Good luck topping how loud that would be.

I want no rasp. And a deep rumble. Loudness is a secondary objective.

You want loudness - get rid of cats in your dp. But you also want no rasp, which is what removing cats does to the F8X. Can't have it both ways.

Single midpipe design, i.e. Active Autowerke's midpipe, will reduce rasp and give you a bassy tone. Apart from that, there's not much that'll remove rasp.. unless you can somehow figure out how to turn the S55 into a single turbo powered engine

I have an Armytrix catback on mine, and like it 10x better than stock.
Despite that, the fact is this car just doesn't sound wonderful and there is still something to be desired compared to a lot of other performance cars. See if you can meet some folks in person to listen to theirs

Our F8X Signature system is the only true full single system on the market. IMO it provides the deepest and smoothest exhaust note for the S55.

I just installed the AA midpipe and couldn't be more happier. Definitely gets rid of the tin can sound, and replaces it with a much throatier note. When i'm ready to ditch the warranty, i'll add in some VRSF downpipes to really open up the sound even more.

Aggressive burbles are the result of tuning.

I think the best sounding exhausts are definitely preference, but my personal opinion is going to be:

w/downpipes -

1. Remus w/AA Mid Pipe

2. AWE Resonated

w/o downpipes [stock dp]

1. FI Exhaust

2. Remus w/AA Mid Pipe

I get compliments all the time since it doesnt sound like the generic burbles everyone else seems to have. if you don't like it that loud it still sound great with stock DP. I am tuned by the way with DME STAGE 3.

Just ordered my Resonated Track. How are you enjoying this?

I've never been a big fan of neither the W204 or the W205 C63's V8 , I love my V8's to sound higher pitch, not low and rumbly.

I always thought the Lexus ISF with EL headers sounded awesome. Different strokes for different folks.

Hey,

Any "Track" (Straight through - No Secondary Cats, Resonators(?), Silencer or Muffler) exhaust will do.

My only caveat/concern here would be back (turbos??) pressure.

The "AWE" comes highly recommended!

Good Luck!

Cheers!

Everyone has a different opinion on if their exhaust sounds good or not. I am still in the group where I believe the S55 sounds like sh!t compared to previous Ms. However, the AA mid-pipes are probably the best thing for the exhaust systems in terms of an universal rasp reducer. AA Mid + any axle back usually results in a "decent" sound improvement over stock and reduction in some of that atrocious rasp we get.

The eisenmann GT4 always sounded great to me (relative to other S55 setups..) and it doesn't use a Y-pipe like the AA-mid. It's just basically an exhaust delete with two added resonators. Downpipes usually add more rasp especially if they are catalytic free, so with that said, it seems like the best way to increase sound is to either straight pipe everything and add resonators, or add the AA Midpipe. I imagine the AA mid pipe + the GT4 would sound great. I just hate the GT4 dual tips as opposed to the traditional quad tips.

My 2 cents
