M Performance Parts Pricing Canada

Just got off the phone with my dealer (BMW Gallery in Calgary) and they gave me pricing on the following M performance parts. All parts are now available. This is for M4. I would assume M3 is probably the same.

Carbon Spoiler - $640
Carbon Diffuser - $1620
Gloss Black Kidney Grilles - $250 each
M Performance Exhaust - $5510 (full exhaust, titanium)

All prices shown before labor.

I am quite interested in the exhaust considering the Akra cost more.

dude those prices are rediculous, especially the diffuser. $1620?!?! really?!

get it from GetBMWparts.com They have everything and much cheaper, even after the FX rate.

... last I heard and know they don't ship to Canada ... therefore, you will have to ship it to a US postal box and pick it up there.

yes. this might be a problem with Calgary.... I live in Vancouver, so Point Roberts, WA or Blaine, WA is just a 30 min drive...

If i buy these parts and add it on to my car, would they be residualized in my lease? I mean I can always sell them before I return the car, but the labor itself would make it costly.

If they are oem M parts, then dealer would gladly accept your returned car in that form. But if you are looking for any adjustment on the residual value, the answer is No. Dealer has no say on the residual value, it is set by BMWFS. Therefore, either you take off those parts and put it back to stock and sell the M parts or you leave them on for the next lucky owner to benefit them, along with BMWFS probably get even more $ on the wholesale auction of your returned car.

The M Performance exhaust is only an axle back and has no performance gains. It's just a different sound. Not sure if $5K for a new sound is worth it. I would rather pay the $3K more for an Akra full system that has performance gains.

The carbon rear diffuser is flawless. Hard to make using carbon fiber. It's a fair price. The Vorsteiner one will be $2K when it comes out.

A note on the kidneys. Don't get the BMW ones. Get the ones from IND, much much cheaper as they use F30 core.

Don't forget brokerage fee. Ranges from carrier to carrier.

And just to be clear guys. All the CF bits are full CF bonded, not the aftermarket stuff (and I include names like Vorsteiner and Akrynm) where CF is layed on top of fiber glass.

Good to know about exhaust. Obviously the parts guy had no idea because he said it was full exhaust from DP back. I thought that was strange but thanks for clarifying.

1) There is no change in piping diameter. Current exhaust is already a straight through with the bypass valves open. Hence, no change to physics. It is lighter, but not sure if that'll translate into anything significant. It looks better. Titanium resonates differently. etc..

2) BMW doesn't advertise HP gain, only different sound. I'm talking about both the internal literature for dealers as well as consumer facing advertisement

Akra makes sense as they have a new mid pipe that's wider and does not have the central muffler.

I see, then that is a waste of money if it doesn't do anything performance wise, and only sounds good.

Why would sound over ride performance?

Down pipes will give you the best of both worlds. Power and sound.

So are you going to wait on a muffler system? Or you going for the M performance?

I am waiting. I want to hear numerous rear cans before I choose, but that being said I am sure it will be Active Autowerke. The rear section will make the final sound what you want, but the DP's give the power and enhance sound drastically.
