Does anyone know the stage or status at which the production delay actually occurs? If the 800 number response is "your vehicle is scheduled for production with no confirmed production date yet" ... is that any indication that production will not be held up by the carbon fiber roof shortage, since it is "scheduled for production"? Or just wishful thinking at this point?

When do you know that you've cleared that hurdle?

Thanks!

2016 M4 GTS  [8.00]
2016 Cayman GT4  [0.00]

I have checked the website, it just says order received. I called the 1-800 number and it says no scheduled production date. I spoke with a like person at the 1-800 and they said its "ready for production"

My CA is on vacation this week but he insists that it started production on 1/5/15. So if he is right then there is definitely a lag between the tracking info we get as a consumer and the info that the dealer can obtain. Id like to think that is the case and that he isn't blowing smoke up my a$$

When he entered my order and sent me my prod number is listed a white M4 (I ordered AY). He said they used a spot they had previously secured and plugged my car in.

So I guess I got lucky and jumped the line a bit and hopefully I see the car in 4-5 weeks. At this point I still have little confidence with all the delays Im hearing about

Why are M3/M4's so slow to build. Over 37K corvette stingrays were sold in 2014. I believe the projected C7 Z06 numbers will be even more than the M's.

I understand the carbon fiber roof supply issues, but even ordering the base M's, theres all sorts of haggles with build waits of over 4 months.

So, BMW NA told me my car was scheduled for weeks 2, after dealer promised early December delivery.. just called the 1800 number, scheduled but no date yet.

I guess that means week 2 was more bullcrap as well.

super unhappy with the way this is working out.

Try talking to a customer service representative to get more information (call the same number, say "customer service"). The automated system is worthless from what I've seen. For instance, the automated solution still says, "scheduled for production with no schedule production date, yet." However, the customer service representative informed me today that I am scheduled for Week 3 (was Week 4 last week).

I ordered an M3 on December 30th. I have not received any information about my order yet. I emailed by CA and he said "All production is being delayed until March for cars with the carbon fiber roof, and also the Full Merino Leather. That is for all BMW dealers." I did not order one with a carbon fiber roof or with full merino leather. I'm hoping mine is not delayed. But thought I would pass this information along.

its really sad if a company the size of bmw can't get this carbon fiber delay figured out for 4 or 5+ months.

I talked to them today and they said my car is ready for paint and has a production completion date of February 9th. I have no idea what's going on over there and just wish people would explain the situation much better. I walked in with 3 friends 3 of us bought M3's and 1 of them bought an M6 grand coupe and we are all dead in the water with Information.

Anyone else in a similar situation? Another rep recently said they are having production issues with not enough parts on the X6 but who knows what's true and what isnt.

Wishful thinking. I think.....no confirmed production date means exactly that. Nothing is confirmed.

while that guy may not have ordered the CF roof, there have been others that i have seen in other threads who definitely ordered weeks after me and have already received their car.

disappointing.

Even though I ordered early October, I didn't start calling the 1800 # till early November and have been hearing the "no confirmed production date yet" over the phone ever since then. It's very disappointing!

I am in the exact boat as you. My order went in on 12/24, and the automated number says no production date scheduled. I asked my CA and he told it started production on 1/5. I ended up speaking to one of the 1-800 reps and he told me it is scheduled to start production the week of 1/19.

I just wish I could get a straight answer from someone.

Here is what doesn't make any sense to me. BMWNA says my car has no production date however it's already scheduled to be painted. My CA says it hasn't started production yet. None of this makes much sense.

My order was also 12/24. Hasn't started production yet. I also get no info that matches.
But Regensburg was closed until Jan 7th. Jan 6 is a catholic holiday in Bavaria.

My CA sent me a screenshot this AM. He kept insisting that it went into production 1/5/15 however the screenshot shows status 150 Production Started 1/12/15. Guess maybe the ball is finally rolling now.
