Ouch... I have no idea about the specifics of buying a BMW or any new car in P.R., but I cannot see why you could not buy your car from a mainland dealer (one of them online could probably advise on this), then have them ship it over. Even if you bought it in Florida, or did a PCD in S.C., and just drove it to Jacksonville yourself (which is not terribly far), it's $1095 to ship the car to P.R...

Warranty should not matter. If it's an authorized BMW dealer they should honor your warranty. What if I moved from here in CT to P.R. and took my car... the dealer would not honor the manufacturer warranty? Sounds pretty odd.

Yes, the seller told me is a new 2015 policy to
Protect the dealer.. They honor warranty but not the services like oil change and brakes.. Seems stupid...this year taxes were lowered due to excessive tax on cars.. So i might be better buying elsewhere and shipping to PR depending on tax rate. Problem is i think taxes should be pay at arrival of unit entirely.. Kind of hard for the wallet

If you buy the car from a private seller, the four years of maintenance does not transfer. All warranty on the car does
