Coilovers in Canadian winter
Unfortunately, I drive my F80 during winter. Can the aftermarket coilovers survive the Canadian winter? I am looking at the KW V3.

Yah you will be fine. Not speaking from F80 experience as I’m using m adaptive and springs but my Evo has a custom set of coils, lots of friends on V3’s here as well.
Even some junky BC or Megan ones will probably survive. Just keep’m clean and try not to bathe in salt. What city are you in? |

Thank you guys. Do you know a good place to grab a set of coilovers? I know that some days I want to change the suspension hence I did not have the adaptive suspension. Is there anything that I need to look out for in terms of part number?

Where are you located?
The cheapest price literally in Canada is AlphaMotorsports for non OEM parts.

Got my Ohlins from them as well. Wish I knew about them before I picked up my Akra Exhaust. OP, I would give Ohlins a serious look, I have them with Swift Spring setup for more aggressive drop and very nice ride. |

Would love to see your setup and get a ride in the ohlins. Seriously considering the KW with EDC compatibility this summer.

Was advised by TC Kline distributor in Alberta that they aren't ideal for our winters and the anti icing chemicals they spray everywhere. Mind you that was last year, not sure if they have any new products out.

If you set your height and never ever touch it after, it's fine but forget the resale value
On my e46 m3 i ran my tc kline through 4 Quebec winter without any problem but after 4 winter they were not in very good shape visually, but was still able to adjust them on bond and rebound without any problem If i was you i would do it, make the car corner balanced and just let the height like this forever....and let the coilover on the car without having the intention of resale them Winter scrap cars.....that's why i use a beater during the winter, don't want to scrap another m3 like i did running my e46 through winters |

Old thread.. but:
I’ve had good success with “shock socks” (on a different car) — these are covers that go over your coil overs. Assuming you have the clearance. They make a few different sizes: http://www.tegiwaimports.com/tegiwa-...ers-300mm.html |
