This is a lot of money to drive a car around the lap, especially when the deliveries will be about a month later (I'd understand the pricing if this were say 6 months before the official unveil).

He's actually dead on the money on this one. I've been to Istanbul twice in the past year / year and a half. Never paid more than $2000 US which includes round trip / hotel etc. One of the trips i even went to Cairo afterwards for another week and a half. Even the Cairo trip included still cost me less than half of what this event costs.

I'm sure it's a great event and i'm sure the cars are spectacular and i do love Turkey, but that price is a little ridic...

Agreed. For slightly less (2,950 €) you can get 2 days at the 'ring in an M3/M4.
You do share a car with another driver but it's the 'ring.

The best example to give is that

in US you get a well equipped M5 around 115-120k dollars in turkey we get an almost empty 520d with no lines or any fancy standard equipment that you get there

There is a schedule link in there - next M3 session is October, there are M6 options in August and 2 in October for a bit more 3650 vs. 2950.
