How do I clean Eventuri???

For such an expensive Intake system that has now been around for some time now, why is it that Im having such a difficult time finding a DIY on how to clean my Eventuri intake filter element. Can someone point me in the right direction? Ive been searching this forum and havent found a thread on it yet.

Eventuri Owners/Installers... If you've cleaned yours. Please help and advise!

I could be wrong, but I think the OP is talking about the filters. Amirite?

Here is the info you need to ascertain:

Is this a dry filter or oiled?

If dry, just use some K&N filter cleaner and allow the filter elements to dry before re-installing.

If oiled, add a slight bit of K&N filter oil to the filter elements once they dry and re-install.

Filters need to be scrubbed with $500 bills every 6 months or 5k miles, whichever comes first.

From Simota website , they say after 5000km make a clean , for me , I depend on the color ,if I see there many dirt or color start fade out, I will make a clean , I installed it about half year , it still look like brand new

I also had this question. I couldn't find the Simota cleaning kit here in the US.
So I called Simota they said to use a K&N filter cleaning kit.

So I bought another BMC cleaning kit because I'm not a fan of K&N.

I also plan to buy 2 extra filters from IND so it will eliminate down time.

Cheers,

This is the instructions from Eventuri i just received:

-Loosen and remove the large clamp from around the front of the filter housing

-Remove the filter assembly (take note of the position of the filter/bracket assembly with respect to the plaque on the housing

-Clean filter with suitable filter cleaner (Simota preferably)

-Use compressed air to blow out excess dirt from inside out

-Re-install filter assembly with the gasket - position it in the same way as removed put the clamp back over the housing and secure.

-Recommended every 5000 miles or so depending on the conditions you drive in.

If I remember correct, the filter of my Eventuri kit for the Golf R was dry - it was not oily as the BMC filters.

I will check again, when I receive my kit for the M4 - but it seems that they are dry.

Can anyone confirm it?
