Just having it set to its highest setting would give the perfect drop!

On my mkv gti, I tried Koni, H&R and Bilstein coils. The Bilsteins was by far the best setup!

Koni, way too soft
H&R, hard as rock

Measure your car again. The front needs at least 1.5inch drop to close the gap. K&W V3 start at 25mm in front and 25mm in the rear. The PSS10 start at 30mm front, but only 5mm rear.

If you see the K&W V3 guys, their rear sits way too low even at the highest setting. This is because the drop starts at 25mm vs 5mm of the PSS10.

I've just had rubbing issues in the past and I carry 4 people (including myself) at least once a week... I know wheel width/offset and tires sizes come into play but I'd rather not deal with it, at least with this option I can put it in sport plus and it won't be as bad.

Yep. I can see that on the rear. The rear is so low stock, that's why the PSS10 lowering the rear 5mm at the tallest setting can be appreciated. The front has about 1.75in (45mm) of clearance to close the gap.

I got a feeling that the 30mm minimum drop for the PSS10 is a typo. With my F30 + PSS10 I can raise it to almost stock height (M-Sport Line - which already has a 10mm drop).

Great post, Jimmy!

iRC is not a B16 variant rather it is an add on component to Ride Control systems!

"The BILSTEIN iRC works with BILSTEIN’s B16 Ridecontrol® kit and combines the unique monotube technology of the BILSTEIN B16 Ridecontrol® kit with an innovative smartphone app that provides complete control of the suspension system from the driver’s seat."

"The BILSTEIN iRC system allows your suspension to adapt to any type of driving situation automatically. When set to Auto Mode, the three-axis acceleration sensor reads vehicle speed and adjusts suspension damping in real time. From bumpy uneven roads to smooth high speed cornering, the Bilstein iRC system will deliver the best in comfort and performance."

In addition to two fixed modes from BILSTEIN (Comfort+ and Sport+), this new system allows users to create, save and share their own custom damping settings via a smartphone. In Auto mode, three adjustable settings become available (Comfort, Normal and Sport). Each one can be custom tuned to the users individual demands."

More information from Bilstein

Since 99% of people who buy this car never do or know to push it to limits, the KW HAS works just fine, thank you!

I have the PSS10 for my Audi S4 since 2012. One of the best coilover I've ever used (vs H&R and KW). At a setting of 5, the ride is firmer but not overtly so and body roll well controlled. Even after a few years of road grime/whatnot, the damper setting knob turned effortlessly. It's definitely well engineered and made. It's the one coilover I'll plan to buy I order my M3/M4.

I'm still confused as to how low these go. What are both the regular PSS10 and the Damptronics lowering range? I was originally told 30mm is the lowest they would go both front and rear. Now it seems this isn't the case.

True, but lowering springs and HAS aren't long term solutions. All stock struts' life are shorten by lowering springs. Search "BMW H&R Springs Blown Strut" and you'll get to hear all the horror stories. OEM EDC struts/shocks will set you back $2,500/set. Not covered under warranty with HAS kit installed.

The PSS10 min lowering (set at tallest) are 30mm front and 5mm rear. I expect the Damptronic sharing the B16 setup will have the same range.

Thanks for sharing. This is what I've been waiting for. Was hoping kW would come out with this kit for edc cars, but I'm sure these are just as good. I'm hoping these will ride just like the stock settings

Bilstein are finally just starting to receive B16 DampTronics for EDC equipped BMWs. The kit for F8Xs are scheduled to go into production in August. They're hoping to have them by November.
