Lowering M4 = Bad ass or a Pain in the ass?
Lowered rides look fantastic but I have to imagine it is a pain in the ass many times.
Are there thoughts from folks who have lowered their cars on the minuses of doing so? - always scraping on speed bumps and curb stops and driveways.. etc? |

I would say BOTH. The car looks better and drives better with it's lowered. However you really have to be really careful of the roads and where you are going. Going somewhere you have never been there could always be a gamble since you have no idea how is the driveway over there.
The result is: HAPPY when you see the car and drive the car and ANXIOUS when you see speed bump and driveways. |

I am on Swift springs and do not scrub on anything. I had KW V3 on my 15 and it was a nightmare getting around town. The rears were so low even at the highest setting so jacking up the front to an acceptable level looked dumb.

Needless to say the paint from the Whole bottom area has been totally scraped off and it looks totally worn. He really defeated the purpose of the clear bra.

My car is lowered 23mm at the front at 15mm at the rear. I have the M performance lip and it's low but I haven't hit it yet. You just need to remember to crawl over speed bumps

No issues here, but I'm in flat Florida. I just go slow and easy getting into driveways and over bumps. I've had no issues compared to my Q50 that was lowered 2". This is on Macht Schnell Competition Springs with a Lightweight style front lip.

No worries if your gonna have it done but you will start scraping at 1/2 to 3/4. The rears are a pain in the ass to set up if your doing it your self. The M's use a inner spring assy and an outer strut. The fronts are soooooo simple. I am at 1 1/4 front and a tick over 1 in the rear and I really have to watch everything here in NC. If I hit any road dips at speed depending what they are I scrap the front under compression, on railroad tracks, etc and of course you have to be careful in parking lots. But IMHO this is the way the car should look

The trade off of looking badass becomes a pain in the ass
This probably holds true for every mod. Always an upside and equal downside. |

Yeah man. I would love to learn more info about your set up. Which Air Cups did you go with? Any special instructions for install/sourcing parts? Any noise or other problems with this set up?
