Coding Help
Hi All,
Anyone on Central Coast, northern part of Sydney or Newcastle that can do coding? Very keen to get some stuff done and I'm willing to pay in beers |

Not answering the question directly but the solution could be remote coding? I had Alex do my car a week or so ago and it was super easy. Dave aka packetpilot aka hackar is going to be starting up again within the next month or so also.

Was hoping someone around who already has the gear could do it so I didn't have to buy it. I'm not keen to buy one and find out it can't do my car. I say that because my father-in-law was over today with his adaptor and the Carly app. Was able to code the wife's X5 but it doesn't support NBT Evo yet so we couldn't do my car

I’ve just done it on my car that I picked up last week 2017 September build.it will cost you about $40 for an iCar2 and $40 for the app. You can do it to as many cars as you like. Just make sure that the dongle is compatible with your phone.

Stuart at BMR sorted my car out. Doesn’t remote code I believe.
GTS DCT flash and US comfort suspension settings are a must. I would have moved the car on without these. |

All you need is a cable and a working laptop for a remote session.... if you want to go that way I'll be in kooindah waters for a couple of nights this Friday, can bring my cable for you to use... post back to me once you're done.
Worked out to be about 380-390 aud for GTS DCT flash, GTS steering, CS EDC, GTS traction/stability, GTS diff, and a hand full of feature coding. Whole thing took under an hour and that was with my laptop acting up. |

Yeah, not going down the DCT and suspension settings route at the moment. Whilst it does appeal, I'm concerned about warranty implications of doing that.
I'm interested in the basic stuff like removing disclaimers, stop/start off, etc... Ordered an icar2 and will see how I go |

Mate absolutely. The GTS coding is phenomenal. It combined with the US comfort suspension is the reason I’ve kept the car.
Stuart saved a copy of my stock DCT file so I’ll just flash back to stock before dealer visits. It’s obd2 so no real warranty concerns to be honest. |

Two biggest improvements for my car are the GTS steering and the CS suspension, GTS MDM is quite a bit freer too...
DCT for me is better/smoother but not WOW. Depends on what you want out of the car, I prefer the suspension a bit tighter hence why I like that change. In saying I also have an older M4. |

I’d strongly recommend these settings to anyone. US Comfort AND GTS coding.
As far as you go roadrunner///BM3 - I won’t waste my time. You don’t read posts properly and don’t understand the mods so there is no point. Last edited by drgmt; 11-21-2017 at 08:58 PM.. |

The US spec coding softens comfort settings alone. In traffic I put all settings in comfort. It’s made the daily drive much nicer.
To go fast it’s sport and sport plus for steering and MDM mode. That’s where I’ve noticed a major improvement. And the DCT was atrocious prior to the GTS update. It is much smother in comfort and engages reverse immediately - prior it would take ages and was very jerky. I’m not going to insult you mate. That’s all to easy for a keyboard warrior like yourself. There’s no need to insult me or my opinion. Everyone is entitled to one. You don’t think these changes are useful then bypass the mod. |

Got my iCar2 a couple of days ago and took the opportunity whilst working from home today to give it a go. Got most of what I really wanted done such as remove disclaimer, auto stop/start off, door lights in reverse, etc..
What I can't find is how to change the timing of mirror folding on lock. In the basic menu all it has is the option to have it on or off, not adjust the time. Anyone know which option in advanced it is? I tried looking for a list in coding thread of advanced settings so I could see what other things I might want to do but so far haven't found one. I'm probably having another man look as the wife would say. |
