Sorry, I mean as to the difference between the BMW HAS coding and the CS coding. I'm running the HAS setup and wanted to know if the CS tune would be stiffer or any better? I've read that the spring rate is the same (ish) as the ZCP and people with ZCP running CS appear to note improvement. Thoughts? I'm getting additional dynoing/coding done next Wed and wanted to perhaps add. Thanks.

I got it coded. WOWOWOWOWOW. Huge difference. I wasn't happy with the M HAS kit with the tune they run. The CS tune is easily better rebounding and compression. Comfort is significantly better than sport was before! Must have!

Did you code it yourself or have someone else code it for you?

Given the CS runs hardware much more in common with base/cp it makes much more sense to code CS settings than the ubiquitous gts trend

I'm running GTS steering, MDM, DCT, DIFF and CS EDC on BMW HAS kit. Super happy.

Just jumping on this thread...

Like spr I am running the BMW HAS kit (with July '17 software) plus all the GTS changes. Overall the car is great but damping is the remaining weak point I want to try and improve.

Despite research and all the discussions, I am still not clear on what is changed is FDL coding to enable CS EDC - can someone clarify the exact steps?

I've been coding for years with eSys and more recently Bimmercode and dabbled with ISTA-P but don't want to introduce a drivetrain malfunction!

I've been offered a relatively inexpensive remote code in the UK but it seems I should be able to do this myself if some kind soul points me in the right direction....

I do not know the FDL parameters. I just change typecode and chassis (if needed) and VO code VDC module.

Ok thanks.

So what code are you changing to 3S73? And where are you changing the chassis?

Should be F082, if you are coding F083 or F080. Make sure you do not write to VCM.

OK - VDC1 appeared after some restarting.

Now I have the same issues as jmciver

Recalibrating the sensors didn't clear the error until I returned everything to the original state - the it recalibrated just fine.

Which step and I missing:

1 - Read FA/ECU
2 - save FA
3 - edit FA
4 - change chassis
5 - change type code
6 - save, calculate FP
7 - right click VDC and 'CODE'

EDIT:

My error in ICM:
D0193E: predefined damper, passive component, 72.1.2 not current, receiver ICM, transmitter VDM/ICM

Just had CS EDC coded on my zcp. Initial impressions are 20-25% stiffer than stock zcp on every setting (efficient, sport, sport+). Better rebound. Noticeably stiffer. Tighter on the corners.

Would I recommend it? Yes, with the caveat that it does make the car stiffer and less comfortable as a daily driver.

Having my M3 coded by a friend next week and he hasn't done the CS coding for the EDC yet. Can some break down for me exactly the Module/values that need to be changed in stupid terms that someone who has coded for would easily get? I have read this thread but keep getting lost. Thanks.

Has anyone used BMPSport.com out of LA, CA?

They seem to offer different tunes as well as BMW CS and GT4 flashes with DCT compatibility.

Thank you. Have no experience in coding, this is very helpful. Not wanting to go to far, just from my CP to CS. The torque curve really seems pretty darn good. HP looks helpful as well.

If that's your goal, go with Bootmod3. It's easy to flash the CS tune from my understanding. Good luck!

The BM3 CS Map only flashes the ECU, but doesn't touch the other modules (ie VDC) as related to the EDC calibrations. I actually support-ticketed BM3 just yesterday on this very point, and Dzenan (you rock) replied saying they are looking to add this functionality to BM3 but there is no timeline for its arrival as of yet.

Now that would be interesting, adding the CS EDC coding. Even though it is technically not engine tuning, the CS EDC coding, along with the GTS DCT coding, seems to go hand-in-hand with performance tunes.
