I'm glad I didn't go with the RCF.

Not sure why I was even interested in that thing in the first place. It just doesn't look all that great.

Post this on their board and let's see what he has to say. Tire pressure too low, too risky to unleash the RCF on the street, etc.

Those speedometer comparisons can't be trusted at all, because either one could have been sped up or slowed down.

Ask a friend in my group that also claims rcf is faster top end for a drag race on a closed road, the result was a slaughter
I even left it in D3 and just relaxed as the dot that is the white rcf grew smaller in the rear view.
We only went to around 130 but it wasn't even close.
He got a test drive of the MDct and now is a believer that the rcf is a great cruiser , but not a serious contender.
Left jb4 on map 0, then last run switch to map 2 for shitzgiggles......I may have to go to court for Rape now, it was dirty

No we've been great friends for a long time
He really likes the Lexus though , and I don't blame him
Its very comfortable and the materials inside are more premium feel
He does acknowledge that pure performance the M wins hands down,
But he just prefers his comfy cruiser better
Its all in good fun

You really think so?

I had just the opposite impression. I enjoyed the RC-F quite a bit. It's fun to drive, although you do feel the weight when you start pushing on it. The engine sounds awesome and while not as torquey as the M4, it gets the job done. Loved the more race inspired feel of the cabin too.

The one thing I could NOT get past is how cheap all of the interior bits felt compared to the M4. Things like the leather, and switch gear all felt incredibly cheap, and don't get me started on the god awful UI of the infotainment system. They could have at least upgraded the leather on the steering wheel... being that it's the part of the car you spend the most time with your hands on.

From what I know about RC-Fs, these cars do not get sold often. So Lexus dealerships generally do whatever they can to sell them. I think you can get them at a very good price. Usually 10k off of MSRP the last time I looked You can probably push for more honestly lol.

By the by, there is this exact same video on the Club Lexus forums and it's just funny to see the response ppl there have to this lol. Some of them are in deep denial hehe

Lol, I've read some of them... usually they end up in, yeah we lose the race and our car as a sports car sucks ass but its reliable and you know... we got a better interior.

Some of them are in very deep denial lol. In most aspects aside from in the wet, the RC-F won't beat a M4 straight up. No matter how much they think so, there are too much numbers that are against the RC-F. In a completely even drag race, even drivers. There is no way a RC-F will beat a M4 or C63/C63S or a CTS-V. The car lacks power and torque for something of that size and weight and it is also a frankenstein monster.

That isn't saying I dislike Lexus cars, it's just kind of have to be realistic. Power to weight ratio of the RC-F is just laughably hilarious.

Gooooood lord, guys...

I just got back from reading the thread over at the Lexus forum about this video.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rc-...ck-bmw-m4.html

Delusional isn't even the word. It's utterly pathetic. I get it. It's human nature to defend and justify something you own but those Lexus owners have lost their grip on reality.

Remind me to create a Porsche 911 thread and talk smack about the GT3 and say that the M4 is soo much better because it has a back seat...

Maybe a lot of the owners there don't know the mechanics of cars. There are few of them there that knows and they are the reasonable ones. The others? Just... lol

In this day and age where Power:Weight ratio is so important to performance, RC-F is the best example of what NOT to do.

I have few Lexus friends and it's funny they say same thing.

When I had m3 I said here is m3, bring rc-f and we will settle this...

Now they told me they saw some video again, but my m4 is on it's way so I'm not talking about that until it arrives

It's a dumb conversation, unless both people have the cars to actually drive it's all magazine talk

One of the guys over there said older BMW's are dumpster fires and that everything breaks. Funny, my 01' E46 M3 and my 00' E39 540i are perfect...

WOW.... just came back from the ClubLexus forum... As a former ISF and RCF owner, I can say, yes, the M4 is a faster car. Even when I had mine, I would never debate that. I loved the Lexus lineup, and still do, but come on....

The reliability part is quite funny though. Through my research of the F80/82 platform, there did not seem to be many issues with reliability anywhere. It seems like they run with the early spun crank hub issues, and rumors of everyone's transmissions blowing up.

The RCF did have some issues with it, rear spoiler deployment, fuel pump issues etc, not that any of them were significant either.

I also love all of the logic of, "well if my car lost 400 lbs, I would clearly beat them", or "if I had x,y and z".... "try that race in the wet", what is the point?

For whatever reason, the CL board has a hard time admitting the M4 is a superior car when it comes to performance. Styling is subjective of course, I do like the look of the Lexus ISF/RCF models, the interior comfort I thought was better in the RCF, but the infotainment/nav system is a huge step behind the BMW setup. I do miss that wonderful V8 growl everyday though.

Anyway, if you want a good laugh, I suggest checking out that thread. I was tempted to try to set some people straight in there, but not sure it is worth the time/effort.
