New connected drive app

Hey peeps,
We finally got the updated connected drive app like the rest of the world. Check it out.

If have not already registered on the new site you will need to.

Both the old app and new app can be used in parallel.

nothing yet for Android.. reinstalled My Remote app and still the same message, Connected Drive app not available in your country...

Thanks for the heads-up. Installed app and successfully connected car (iPhone). I had the previous version with our 2016 X1, and it didn't seem to do jack so I never used it. With this new version, I sent a destination to the car from my phone...gold. Next step is to figure out how to use Spotify on BMW's data dime...

^I don't know...never tried it. But I assume it is.

*EDIT* I mean, I have tried it...when you connect to CarPlay it is through the WiFi. I can't connect my phone to another WiFi source when it is connected to CarPlay.

I'd have to surmise that the data coming in is free, definitely for apps running from iDrive, but maybe not from my phone. But I haven't directly assessed this.

It is totally bitchin' that the CarPlay connection is wireless, I have to say.

Installed the app right after I saw this post. Connected my car and the door&window status said right front window OPEN. Went to check and found that the right window did opened a little and it was RAINING.

Which app are you using to get window status?

I have been using BMW remote since I got the car. Always have been able to send destinations to the navigation. Can lock/unlock doors.

Basically I don't see anything new?

I'm pretty sure When you use CarPlay the data comes from your phone and not from the bmw hotspot. The connection is via wifi for CarPlay but data is used from your phone same as your GoPro- wifi connection.

I dunno I could be wrong lol

You’re right! I did some experiments today with the cellular data turned off and nothing requiring data worked any more. Oh, well.

I think the only way to do it is by downloading the remote app and changing it there. That's how it worked for me

That's the one I'm using.

Do you not see the window/door drop down? To show KM you need to download the remote app I believe and change it there... that's how mine worked

What year is your car? Mine is a 2016.
