How the heck do these work properly at night? The oem lights low beam is up top. These illuminate the oem high beam location as the low beam and vice versa. Kinda whack and a dead giveaway of a knock off.

Yeah, these look a little off in the photos. Like nearly everything with these cars however, I think the only people who are really going to notice are those who already own the car.

I just recently installed these lights from the same Facebook seller “Luoma Motor”. The lights actually look really great, light output is better than the Adaptive Xenons I came from. I bought the wiring harness and had them coded by Marius, great customer support. The low beam is the lower half of the lamp and they are definitely not adaptive, but this is the trade off for saving a couple grand. They do say “BMW Adaptive LED” on each of the lights. Definitely an upgrade from pre LCI, but I would definitely go with OEM if money was no object.

ive owned the m3 for 2 yrs now and at this point i'm kind of afraid to ask, what is the actual difference between pre lci and lci lights?

and are ikon lights a type of lights or a brand ?

LCI is 2018+ for the headlights and tail lamps for M4. (M3 LCI was 2016 for the tail lights, and 2018 for the headlights).

All LCI cars are not equipped with ICONs which are factory OEM BMW headlights (what is being discussed in this thread are aftermarket copies of the OEM ICON headlights). ICONs are generally the favored headlight for these vehicles as a common opinion is they make the front end of the vehicle look more modern. ICONs were an option on 2018+ vehicles, not standard. Standard headlights on 2018+ are still LED, but they resemble the original xenon headlights from the prior LCI models so many do not favor those from an aesthetic standpoint (though I do think they look more like a traditional BMW headlight).

The original LED headlights were available from 2015-2017, and were then phased out from all models for the 2018 model year, so basically every model year had a choice between two different headlight configurations.

I think they have a new version where you don’t need wiring or a harness. You may still need coding

Please keep this updated! Was wondering if the plug and play was true, and how easy this is.
Thanks!

Not sure if you still have it. Is your set from the same Facebook seller as the OP? Thanks

Does anyone know if there’s a newer or improved version of this? Either saving the adaptive feature or being a plug n play without the extra harness needed for cars with adaptive Xenon.

Mine is a 2015 with adaptive Xenon. Does my headlight have 8 pin or 9 pin? Thank you for the help!

These look pretty dim from certain angles. Has anyone with these lights tried coding the drl to be brighter?

I talked to one of the seller on aliexpress that contacted the engineer for these light and the suggestion was to turn up the voltage on the lights not sure how to do that other than the 100% in BimmerCode but apparently he said it’s possible idk if someone want to try that
