Rude Mood
Big weekend down at INDE Motorsports Ranch in Willcox, AZ. Very lucky that our club gets to run there, as we're the only outside group that is invited to this wonderful private track and facility. It's a 3+ hour drive from Phoenix, so I had my dad drive down the M4 as a "back up" car since the replacement engine in my E36 race car has been a little suspect since installing this summer. Hate to make the long trip and have nothing to drive.
Well wouldn't you know it, during practice sessions Friday and early Saturday, the race car would drop a cylinder after about 5-8 minutes of hard use. Park it, let it cool off then it would run fine again? Decided to run the M4 on Saturday, but I was in a bit of a "Rude Mood" on track because there was nice, large race group I was missing out on. Was ahead on points for the season by a narrow margin, which I was obviously going to lose since I wasn't running. As it turns out, had a great time with the M4 in an intermediate open passing group (had to do that group since I had a time conflict with advanced). Luckily, there were a few other fast BMW drivers in the group I got to play with. In this session, Leroy was testing the E36 race car he just finished for my dad. I had already done some lead/follow with my dad earlier in the day and he was driving it SOOO slow, I asked Leroy to take it out to test it for him. Leroy is a really fast driver and holds the track record there at INDE and a few other places. Long Video, but with some tasty tunes. Turn your speakers up. First session, I went out 27psi cold on outside front tire. Came back in 39 hot, LOL! I'd say it was pushing a bit. Really need those camber plates. As far as the race car goes, we figured we may as well put some new spark plugs in Sunday morning. Low and behold the thing runs for the whole practice session. Was able to race all day Sunday. Placed second in my group, losing by 0.001 seconds at the finish! It was our trial run of our PS2"N" group which stands for Nitto NT01. I was only a second slower than I was last time on DOT slicks, so real happy with that.

Glad you had a simple fix for the race car but be sure to have some spare ignition coils as well unless they have been replaced recently. Always good to have a spare even if yours are new.

Yeah the new R888R. Not much better than the old tread pattern. Fastest lap is usually within the first couple of laps then continues to get greasier and greasier as the session goes on. They do have a nice stiff sidewalk though, so they're compatible with cars that have don't have enough camber.
Compared to the NT01 (which were are now using in our race class for the E36), the R888R is still the runner up. In the final race on Sunday the E36 (on NT01's), my fastest lap was the 7th lap (2:03.0) and second quickest was the 11th and final lap (2:03.1). That's consistency for you.

Can you post the video without the music? I have never understood why track videos need to have music.

New race truck driver I think. There's nothing wrong with it's brakes, lol. 700hp / less than 3000lbs it went pretty good with previous owners.
