the good news is that as a fellow east coaster, we see more ships on average than the west coast and hopefully that works in our favor.
I'm going to remain optimistic and assume we are all getting on the same boat tomorrow

No ship assignment for me either. Keep in mind that the shipment information (even the information available to Genius) may be delayed up to ~48 hours after getting on a boat.

yeah i posted this exact sentiment in another thread

"yeah - the real question is going to be if genius doesn't know it's assigned until 2 days after it has left port. seems like they should know what ship it's assigned, but have heard from a few people that they were told it wasn't assigned yet only to find out a few days later that it was already shipping. it's like it takes a few days after it has shipped before they can tell you it was assigned and shipped. makes sense i hope"

I called the automated line today and was told it was still waiting at the port.

I then went onto bmwusa.com and saw it moved into the "En Route to the U.S." stage.

I thought this might mean it was on a ship, so I called BMW Genius. They told me it was loaded onto the W&W Faust on 1/23/17! I'll have to do some searching to see how to track the ship at this point.

Congrats! There's some good tracking info in the sticky thread in this forum. You can use marinetraffic.com while the ship is close to land.

I'm still stuck at port. Hoping to be on one of the ships to leave 1/31.

Thanks. I entered my VIN into the W&W website. It shows a 2/8/17 estimated arrival date in New York.

1-800-831-1117, choose option 2 when it picks up. It has the most lag of the three methods from what I've seen.

Congrats! My car completed production on the 20th and immediately shipped out to the port. Hoping this means it will be on a boat 4-5 days after yours and will hit the water before the end of the month.

Congrats to all! Mine completed production 1/19 and my CA confirmed I'm status 193 and waiting at the port. Hopefully we'll all be on a ship soon!

We're on the same ship! Our builds are pretty similar too (at least from the outside). I'm MG on Sakhir with Silver 19's as well. I opt'd for LED's tho.

I've admired the car in your signature before. Every time I see a gray car I think, "now that's a good looking car".

Just checked the website and it's on a boat. Called Genius and was informed that it left the port on the 24th and is aboard the Independence II. Expected arrival in Baltimore on February 5th.

Wow. Congrats. That was quick. Only 4 days from finished production to already en route on a boat. I'm just hoping mine is going to be as quick.

Damn!

Still at port after arriving there last Wednesday (1/18). Next WW boats leave 1/31.

there another one leaving tonight (not W&W) - the Orion Highway ("K" Line America, Inc - but who knows if BMW even uses that much). That stops in Baltimore on 2/6, Brunswick on 2/9, and Charleston on 2/11. if we don't make that one, then I guess it's next week for sure. it just bums me out that it's been there for a week and multiple ships have left in that time frame and we haven't managed to get on them yet and others wait 1-2 days and land a ship.

it also sucks because if we land the 1/31 boats, they take longer than a boat leaving on February 1st and one leaving on the 3rd because of how many stops they make. i really wanted the independence so i could get my delivery moved up at pcd.

I wonder what the rhyme and reason is for getting boat assignments. All of our cars are "priority 1" (customer sold). I knew before production started that my port of entry was going to be Baltimore. I assume you guys also know your POE? Anyone else have Baltimore?

Ah, totally forgot about K-Line. Didn't realize they serviced the Brunswick port. Thanks for the headsup...fingers crossed for us both. These guys in the Northeast are beating us at the shipping game.

Will refreshing Bimmerpost make the boat travel any faster?

I'm getting my mod list together:
  • Black kidneys (maybe...not sold on the look)
  • YMB side markers
  • Cable for coding
  • WeatherTech floor mats
  • Pro-clip dash mount for phone
  • Carista BT OBDII adapter for Bimmerlink (exhaust valve control)

And the can't forget these:
  • 2x Diono Radian RXTs for the kiddos
  • Diono seat protectors
