This could sway me, but first I'm an android guy (although I could use an ipad) and second ... seems like it's just duplicating the phone apps.
Supposedly a new GoPro camera will be coming out this summer and is rumored to have better image stabilization.

Too bad the speed and throttle position are not uploaded to the camera for an overlay.

Having used the M Laptimer last weekend for a spirited recording through the mountains I find the information from it would be even better if it could be sync'd with the video from one's camera. Instead of using my GoPro camera I did a recording using my Samsung Note 3 phone camera. For two good reasons, the display is a huge 5.5 inches, and I can view the video during live recording with such a setup. If BMW could move the live camera display to the in car screen that would be perfect. I know Federal US law prevents watching video in the front area of a passenger car, but I don't consider viewing live data from outside my car any different then looking at a live GPS moving screen which is allowed.

What I really like to see is BMW Connected App offer is a way to do both live recordings, M Laptimer and live camera recording all into one. Select views of what you like on the recording, GPS location, Speed, G-Force, Brake, Throttle, Acceleration, etc. I know the Corvette PDR gives us this but not as robust as using a separate mounted camera and selected data on the screen. Now if this could be done the App it would be a real killer for any BMW Connected Drive user.

I too have a question on what is needed to support this feature, is it just BMW connected apps?

Would the GoPro HD Hero 2 with Wifi Bacpac work also, or does it need to be the Hero 3+ ?
