Difference between carbon fiber trim in E9x and F8x. Also F83 seats vs. F80/F82 seats

Hi all,
I was in the dealer to look around for M4 cabrio and was very bad surprised that the carbon trim in M4 is so diferent in neggative way than in the m3(e92).I know that in e92 there is leather on top of the trim, but the material look different- in m4 is more shiny like cheap fake pvc folio and not like real carbon fiber...

Second:the seats in m4 cabrio look exactly the same way (exept of m power badge) like every 4series cabrio sportseats with warmer...

The trim you refer to in the E9x M3 was not carbon fiber at all. It was leather that was textured to resemble a carbon fiber weave.

The trim available for the F8x M3/M4 is actual carbon fiber with a thick, polished clear plastic coating as most decorative carbon fiber is. In fact just about all carbon fiber is used in conjunction with plastic, hence the name Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic or CFRP.

Yes. For the F83 they did not use the M-specific lightweight seat because it would have meant omitting the neck warmer which they no doubt determined would be missed by many potential customers. Also, since the F83 requires integrated belts it would have required its own version of the M seat which would have added cost and also added back in much of the weight saved, negating the purpose of those seats to begin with.
