These threads pop up on the Audi forums too. Guy/gal buys a new car and a month later is excited that nothing has broken. While that's great news, it is telling that we generally have low expectations for our German cars. It's also telling that many of us are still happy to purchase them. I've got 20,000 trouble free miles on my 14 S4. Put 100,000 miles on my last Audi with two major let downs in 8 years. Not terribly bad. I think generally BMW, Audi and Merc are not the hanger queens of the past but our expectations haven't truly kept up with their general reliability.

This is no insult either folks, just an observation.

I have 170,000KMs on my 2002 330i and have spent less then 3K on it outside oil and brakes and tires. Now THAT is something to start a thread about.

Even when I lay on the wit thicker than the shit flowing through our Capitol Building, some still don't get it.

This thread was just a counter to all of the "issue" threads. Send ISSUEs to Lups.....

The sad thing is that these are fantastic automobiles and there are way too many on this forum that don't believe you when you say yours has no problems, noises, etc.

2200 miles, no issues other than occasional tin can noise from the rear brake shields.

I'm thoroughly convinced that most of the problems with these cars are the owners.

Probably. But I hear the 2 Series board is a laugh a minute. Oops...I meant the M 2 Series board.

5,000 miles in (including a trackday at Spa last week) and nothing to report...other than I love it.

Looking forward to lower/stiffer springs, stickier tyres, M performance exhaust and front splitter thingy...oh and maybe a remap up to 550bhp.

Then I'm going to track the hell out of it and continue driving it every day.

My first M car. Good work BMW. CSL next.

Personally I wouldn't really consider a car to be "reliable" unless it can at least cross the 100k mark with minimal issues

Guess I have never had a reliable car, since I have never owned one that went over 100k. My 15 year old Z3 has 60k on it - may be awhile.

Very true. Before buying my M, I joined the forums and read so many horror stories like the rod bearing issues of the e9X series and it scared me at first. I was so surprised at the noted low expectations people had in regards to reliability, like getting to 50k miles with no issues, lol. My beater suv has 200K miles and all I've done is changed the oil on it, lol. But like dating the hot super model that you know may eventually leave you high and dry, I couldn't resist and don't regret it all

Oh and I have 300 miles and no issues at all
