Mine was in for ris today but won't get a chance to see what it's like while at the weekend, my dealer picked it up and dropped it off and said mid range was astounding and just wanted to keep on pulling I asked him to open it up for me) Very good reviews starting to appear |

A quick review as promised guys
Car was picked up by dealer for its ris, I told him to make sure he opened it up bringing it back which will probably shock some of you guys, I've dealt with the same dealership for over 20 years and the guys are proper petrol heads and know how to look after cars .Car was on my drive when I got in from sea, but could see the amount of fly kill and knew he had done as I asked.I sent him a txt to see how it was, of which his reply was I'd have to wait and see myself. So like a dog with 2 dicks I decided to take the day off and spend a proper day in the car. The day could not of been more perfect as summer is approaching, outside temp was up to 14c.Headed off and once the tyres were up to 20c I started to open it up.What a revelation, power was smooth and very linear, there was no last shove of power to the redline. It was very easy to see triple figures notched up on the speedo. For those of you who don't know, we have no national speed limit here in the Isle of Man and have some nice deresricted roads where you can get the power out of your car in a sensible manner and behaviour. Was very pleased with the performance of the car on our major roads. Took the car on some quiet back roads, tyre temps were up to 30c , the way the car handled was exceptional with no tc blipping off at all.The car just seemed to dig into the road and wouldn't lift over crests or bounce about scaring you to pieces.Found the best setting to be Sport on throttle map, comfort on suspension and sport in steering .Front tyres were up to 45 and rears at 40 and honestly there was no sign that the rear end wanted to let go at any time.Back onto the main roads the tyres soon came down and settled in at 30. Car feels very light with the forged wheels and ceramics of which I bedded in, BM recommend 600 miles with no need to bed in.On my last two sets of ceramics I bedded them in , you get a nice adhesion layer onto the discs which make them bite very hard and incidentally they don't squeak. When I sold my M6 I was going to take the Akra off and sell it but my dealer asked for it to be left on and he would put an MPE on this car .The exhaust sounds good and is very deep , it has some good pops and bangs coming off throttle which you can tone down in the throttle maps.Under full load it sounds immense, with the CS having no piped sound in the car you get good induction and exhaust note in the right places. Will get a great idea as to how well the car will perform next week going around our one way system put in place for the TT , it's a fab nine mile run where you can use the racing line without worry of anything heading your way. To briefly some up, I think it's a massive step up from my 14 F80. I think BM have nailed the suspension issues and coupled with the staggered wheel setup and cup tyres have made the car what it should of been from the word go.You certainly would not think about 4wd if this is what they can do with the ever increasing power of this class of car |

Wow, 0 to 60 in 3.6?? Much quicker than advertised! And 492 hp?? Is the 460 hp they are advertising wheel hp, and that is showing BHP? Are those readings coming from the car's onboard system, or is that an aftermarket computer? |

It's showing crank hp, it's no surprise as dyno graphs have shown the mid range pull with the extra torque to be around the 490 hp. The gauge also controls the valves as well as deleting the cell light if you installed downpipes. http://awron.com/index.php/m3-f8-f80-dga |
