My M4, AWE resonated exhaust
Hi guys,
Did a "home-made" video of my M4 with AWE switchpath exhaust system. Some details about the set up:
Enjoy. |

I have catless downpipes and it's pretty damn quiet when cruising... However, I think I may leave the valves closed because it's a bit on the raspy side.

Hey bobble,
I didn't notice any drone. Mind you, my set up is OEM downpipe and resonated midpipes, so it is not as loud as AWE recommended. Their suggested set up is either:
However, I find my set up loud enough for me, as I have the BMS modules and I leave the valves open all the time. As with OEM, cold start still feels like an earthquake with valves open. On a side note: thanks all for the complements above... and below (when they get here). Cheers. |

How raspy is it? With my OEM exhaust, it was extremely raspy to the point other owners said its affecting the quality of the sound. So, I brought it to the dealers and there was a part requiring replacement. After replacing it, the raspy-ness went way down. Another check you can do, if you have a valve control module, you can set it to always open and if the raspy-ness goes away, then you probably have a similar issue as mine. Cheers. |

It's only raspy in the higher rev range on WOT.
I found that the exhaust retains more of the deep sound with the AWE valves closed. I'm going to mess around with it a bit more and see... I just installed it on Saturday, and I'm only driving my car once a week these days. Might play around after work since my wife is going to have company over. I'll probably bust my GoPro out soon and make a video.

For Sho!! downpipe will probably be a few years out, being mindful of warranty and maintenance. As for location of the video, where else can be better than behind a walmart, where all the back alley deals happens.

For best full sound effect, you should have video/done it (rev it) in an enclosed parking garage |
