I'm in your boat; I love the lip but hate the "fin" covers. Unfortunately, I don't think you can get them separately. I would LOVE to be wrong though...
BigLare can you weigh in on this having seen this car in person?
They appear to be separate pieces and I'd be very surprised if they didn't sell them separately.

This would be great news! Even if they sold the pieces together you could choose to only install the lip section.

by the looks of of those close up pics, running aftermarket exhausts will have soot become a big pain in the ass...

have to hear this in person but from the videos, same conclusion as with m5's. previous gen, unfortunately, sounds much better.

Honestly I think the PE on N55's is better.

The more I think about it, the less interested I am in the F8X.

Yeah, I've got the ACM mod on my e93 from EAS and I love it - it's perfect:

Once it's warmed up, it's fairly tame unless you get a throttle blip or romp on it, then it'll get stares from a block away.

I even love the cold start - sounds low & brutal on start up but then quiets down in 30 seconds or so.

For $400 it's a no-brainer. That said, I bought the exhaust new from ACS (so $800 total) and it did give me a little power drop for a week or so.

If I go M4 I'll probably definitely be coding and replacing the primary cats as I bet there'll be some great numbers to harness given the forced induction.

I'm wondering if the new must-have M4 mods will be Cobb chips, FMICs, BVs, charge pipes w/ dual diverter values etc like the 35s

Can't code cats out on new f30 it will throw a code. No one can crack the computer yet. It's too fast. F80 will likely be the same.

I like the way it looks, not the way it sounds. Not sure if any exhaust will make it sound good

Only realistic solution is to have both a E9x and E8x M car in the stable.

Crazy how so many peoples top complainta for this car is exhaust sound. I've always preferred A Porsche i6 with exhaust to any V8. But that's just me

Nice sound, a bit ricey for my taste. Does the engine make any noise that's audible?

I care more about how it sounds behind the wheel. Looking forward to some in cabin sound clips, stock and MPE.
