From this angle the M4 doesn't look too different from the regular 4 series

I thought I remember reading that the M3 is bring produced at a different factory than the M4? If that's the case maybe the m3 production hasn't started yet, or just that it didn't produce as much fanfare.

Fantastic! MY day is starting out MUCH better than yesterday

Looking forward to reading some reviews on the car. My biggest concerns are:

- Steering (EPS)
- Potential Turbo Lag
- General sound inside the cabin

I'm actually very optimistic that the car will be great but eagerly awaiting to find out if that's true.

Looking forward to reading the first member review!

Maybe. I know that the Munich plant does produce both 3 and 4 Series today so it would make sense for them to produce both the M3 and M4 there as well.

Sure, but to me it looks no more like the non-M than in past generations. There are naturally going to be strong familial similarities.

The M3 will be produced in Regensburg plant (built alongside 3 Series Sedan).

I agree. The M3 will be much easier to distinguish from a series car IMO.

Interesting that the 4 convertible will be built at the 3 series plant. Wonder if that is a typo?

Perhaps the perception from BMW based on E9x M3 sales was that to meet the June launch/deliveries they would start building the M4 earlier, expecting a much higher demand for M4 than M3???

The Munich plant builds the 3 Series too, so one could also say "the 4 coupe is built at the 3 Series plant".

I guess they probably worked the lower volume models in wherever there was capacity.

Yes it does, the wheel gaps are much larger

Seriously, I think it looks different enough where it matters to make it look much beefier and more serious. But the wheel gaps are still too big for this kind of car.

It sucks that it seems that they will store these cars until June instead of getting them out to customers so that reviews can begin.

Agree with you on the wheel gaps. To me, it looks like the wheel gaps on the M3 are better than the M4 (just based on the pics from auto shows).

Funny how they act like its a good thing that M cars are now being built at the same place as regular BMW's. As another poster said, the regular 4 series looks almost identical to the M4.
