Wow man. The silence is unbelievable. This whole thing is a lesson in how a company should not handle a problem.

You know I smell horse shit from everyone at BMW including the dealerships. My CA had informed me last week that parts had been delivered to fix ALL of the affected cars at the processing center (Hueneme). Yesterday the lady from BMW NA said she will be ordering the part for my vehicle. So either my CA or the woman from BMW NA is lying. It is very frustrating because no one from BMW is transparent about this issue.

I was told there were over 300 cars needing a fix at Hueneme. It's likely your CA misunderstood the info he heard.

I cant because i've already purchased it (ED), but i wrote a pretty strongly worded email to BMW NA this afternoon.. very displeased with how BMW is handling this whole thing (lack of communication, transparency etc).

So far it's just you. I may cancel too if there is no progress by early next week. At least you still went with BMW, so corporate did not lose anything. I am very confident that the c63S that is heavily discounted will still be available next week.

I was told the same thing by Genius about Hueneme VPC situation this afternoon, but then he lost me when he said there is no priority - first come first serve.

I think the order of priority is based on arrival date at the port.

It based on how fast you call BMWna and get your case escalated. Otherwise they will do it when it's convenient for them.

Perhaps my admittedly scathing email yesterday lit a fire under someone. Just received this:

Good Morning Mr. X,

I can confirm that your vehicle is currently in the workshop for the rear diff repair and should be released by EOB tomorrow. Please feel free to check back with me for an ETA to dealer. Thank you.

Best Regards,

I may be canceling as well. My 2017 is still stuck at the factory with no eta. I missed a phone call from a BMWNA case manager last week, called her back, and haven't heard anything at all. This is getting pretty ridiculous.

I spoke with my case mgr this morning who has been very nice and always answers but has no real authority to do anything but communicate. My 2017 M4 is stuck in Germany also and the only thing i am being told is that they have no parts to fix the cars right now. Meanwhile cars are rolling off the production line with no problems whatsoever and will be delivered before mine. All the while my current lease mileage keeps going up and so does the bill for being over miles. Quite frustrating but we shall see what happens.

Although my dealer had promised the part more than 10 days ago, still nothing at my dealership, but at least I am driving the car. And no noise is coming from the diff at the moment. I guess the good thing is that I will get a new diff, the bad thing is that the service is terrible, so I hope the dont f*** up my car when changing its diff.

What if you order a different M4? Chances are you may get it sooner than the current M4 that is held at the factory. If you can get a dealer that has a 2017 allocation that is scheduled to be built soon, there is a very good chance it will be delivered to you sooner than the current car waiting for the rear differential. I was told that they will not ship any car from Germany until the rear differential is replaced and it looks like they are allocating parts to cars that are currently held in US ports. Did you already sign the purchase agreement?

I went a spoke with my dealer who is a good friend of mine about options. They have an allocation but its for a December delivery which I really hope this doesn't take that long or I will be pretty salty. My friend gave me a great deal and they gave up an allocation to get the car for me so I won't go anywhere else and stick them with a car. I just have to stick it out and hope for the best. If it goes too far we will see what other options are out there.

Someone needs to get you a new allocation from BMWna. I'm sorry people should not be getting new cars before you when yours is just sitting there.

I dont disagree with you there at all. I am going to see what they say come Friday as I was told it was "possible" that parts were going to arrive then.

At this point even if they fixed your car by Friday you're at least 6 weeks away, which brings you into October. At worst case use the second allocation of BMWna won't make it right.
