I don't think so, but my wheel looks like that too...

No harm in asking dealer on next service visit.

^ Might not be. Leather care would help, as leather cracking is normal without maintaining it.

i doubt it, unless you have a great relationship with your SA.

Mine looks perfect. 30k miles. 2015. After owning several nappa leather cars, I cannot emphasize how important it is to spot condition and clean the leather. Do a wipe on bolsters, wheels, knee pads and door handles every week at nite and let it sit over nite.

Totally agree with this - that's clearly damage from something skipping across the wheel as it turned, not "cracking" which it can't be because the leather is still obviously smooth and pliable - it even maps the arc turn of the wheel.

In short, you did it.

The dye was pulling out of my 2015 F80 wheel with 7,000 miles or so, and they told me to kick rocks. He said the oils in my fingers were acidic. IIRC, oils that are secreted from your skin are around a pH of 5, which is slightly acidic. Rain water is 5.5.

It seemed like an easy cop-out for the dealer, but they did replace the leather door handle that was flaking.

I use Meguiar's Leather conditioner and cleaner:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Meguiars-...ioner/23067482

It makes the leather shine and greasy, but that goes away when you sit on it.

I just greased it, but you can see there are no cracks, flaking, no issues whatsoever with my seats other than the loosening of the leather through sitting and holding on WOT as my ass moves back into the seat.

3 years and 30k miles.

Thanks. I don't usually like the "shine". I was a fan of Leather Masters for years, but it doesn't clean heavily soiled leather.

I get it. It does goes away with use- I use it on my passenger side, it is basically brand new since my wife hates the car. I should really take these photos in the sunlight and it isn't as bad.

Should be 100% covered in the 3yr manufacture warranty, i had my one replaced twice under warranty, once for premature wear and the 2nd one had poor quality stitching, either way id make a noise, if not you can get it recovered easily though

I don't use greasy conditioners either especially not on the steering wheel. I hate that shiny look on the steering wheel.

Ermm that definitely looks like you scratched it with something.

Leather cracks won't look like that.

So all that greasy shit gets absorbed into your clothes? No thanks. There must be a better product/solution.

As I mentioned, you need to let it sit over nite. That is a picture of my seat just after application, my passenger seat you can see is fine.

If there is a better solution, I'm all ears. We use a professional detailer for my folks cars and they use another brand, but it is the same result.

When you have dry skin, you put moisturizers on and what happens? it's greased up and goes away after a bit.
