That's a familiar location for me as well. In my Audi, they had a "two layer" console so a midsized like your 40 would sit there nicely and not be in the way for all the normal console crap.

A Kahr 9 will not fit there, nor a Kimber Ultra Ten 2. A KelTec P3AT .380 will as will a Taurus Curve...but it's a 380. Does your Kimber?

Possibly. I'm not a gun owner (I'm an aspiring gun owner, but in NY it's a year long process that I've not invested in, yet). My impression is that the weapon is pretty heavy and should fit in the door pocket. I guess it could move around, but to your point said rig shouldn't be too problematic to engineer.

Maybe we get M4's for our M4's....just kidding. It was a joke told to me by an MP at West Point.
