That looks off by quite a bit...maybe you received Alpine White instead of MW???

Please shoot support@ind-distribution.com an email and we will get you a new set out right away. We now have a MW trunk on hand to check the color.

reflector trouble

If you have a full set of camera’s, then one of the camera’s is right between the wheel well and the OEM reflector. This makes getting to the reflector that much more difficult. It also may obviate the use of the hair dryer. I spent about an hour trying to dislodge one of mine and no luck. I may have to raise the car, take the front wheel off and take the entire inside panel off so I can get to the reflector. Any advice is welcome.

Front reflector replacement with M4 with front cameras

This morning I had the pleasure of replacing my front reflectors with color matched replacements from IND. I tried the previously posted method but it did not work for me. So I took off the front wheel and took off the interior lining. The lining covers just the front half of the wheel well. It has nine screws. It comes right out with no problem whatsoever. Then you have full access to the back of the reflector. You also see in these attached pics, the front camera and other wires and such you have to not wreck while you are doing this. The reflector is actually under part of that camera by about a ˝ inch. So once you pry the old reflector out, you take out the old adhesive. I just rolled it up – it is like sticky putty. Then you put new painted blank in, put the liner back in (which could not be easier), put the wheel back on and you are done.

I would not do this job any other way even if I did not have cameras. You also get to see some interesting parts of your car you would not see otherwise.

Stop crying you baby, yours will get to you as soon as they can make them. Then we'll see again who's drinking beer while the other does the work!

It will end the same way as last time... the middle finger via text and a new set of reflectors installed (hopefully, matching this time).

Drmacole, thanks for the tips. I ended up took the wheel off and the liner too with my install. Those stock reflectors were bitches to be removed! I had to use a hair dryer to soften the glue to remove them.

Did mine today following IND's instructions without taking wheels off and it worked fine. I just had to push really hard to pop them off. I also have side cameras, no problems. I pulled the reflector through the hole and also put it in [installed] through the hole.

The hardest part was rubbing/peeling the damn tape off after. My finger tip skin isn't feeling too great right now.

This is so much harder to do then the E92 M3 reflectors!

Received my reflectors yesterday and gave it a shot. An hour in and the reflector still wasn't off the car! I gave up and decided to leave it for another day with more time.

My thumbs still hurt from pushing the reflector

Try taking a hair dryer to the area around the reflector. That should loosen the adhesive securing the reflector.

IND provides painted reflectors as a cost effective solution relative to the purchase of a OEM European bumper. We start the process using the OE BMW reflectors for a factory fit, and the same paint process we would use to spray an entire car. Each reflector is sanded, prepped for paint, primed, then painted. We ensure that all lettering on the face of the reflector is completely removed providing the same finish as your factory bumper.

Many enthusiasts enjoy installing their own painted reflectors, so we’ve created this installation DIY to help.

Tools needed:

• 8mm socket and ratchet
• Adhesive remover or cleaning solvent
• Nylon prybar (optional)

Step 1:

First, turn the steering wheel to full lock, in any direction. This will expose the fender liner.

Step 2:

With the fender liner exposed, begin removing the 8mm screws near the front reflectors.

Step 3:

Once the fender liner screws are removed you will have access to the back of the bumper cover. Using your hands or a nylon prybar pull the edge of the reflector from the bumper cover. This may take some work to remove, but the leverage applied by a nylon prybar makes the job much easier.

Step 4:

After the reflector is removed from the bumper cover take a cloth and some adhesive remover or solvent and remove the excess adhesive.

Step 5:

Now that the surface is clean remove the adhesive cover on the painted reflector and push reflector in place. Make sure to apply even pressure around all edges.

Step 6:

With the reflector installed it is time to button her up. Pllace the fender liner back into position and secure it to the bumper with the 8mm screws.

I would buy some cheap reflective tape. Cut to shape then Stick it on over the painted ones. Then remove with a hair dryer after inspections.
