M4 CS vs M4 GTS sound comparison

CS sounds great but the GTS still tops it IMO.

What do you guys think?

Both way overpriced cars which will not hold a good RV.
BMW Must think we are all gullible mugs.

The CS has a standard CP exhaust.

Slap an MPE on it and it should come close to the GTS.

My CP exhaust sounds great now after 2.5K miles and with AS disconnected.

I am sure it does. But MPE sounds even better

Sound all too similar but I'm sure the GTS sounds a bit more racier in person (I would hope so if you spent all that money on one).

But to the general public the response would be "sound the same to me"

Question. Why the exhaust sounds better without ASD?

Because it's coming from the rear of the car NOT the speakers.
The sound over 4K RPM is great now.
PS) I have also sound proofed the boot which makes for a quieter car all round.

anyone know if you can buy the GTS exhaust? I listened to the MPE and it's not that much better than the CP exhaust (at least from inside the car). My guess is that the GTS exhaust is baffled differently and more raspier.

I still have a strong hunch the GTS exhaust is not very different than the MPE. IMO, the only difference is the welded single wall Ti tips for the GTS. The MPE with the valves open is essentially a straight pipe from the secondary cats down.

Further, even if the rear muffler can was different, I don't see how different baffling inside would change the sound much with the valves open, even considering the Helmholtz effect.

You should listen again. There is a massive difference between the MPE and the CP sport exhaust. Just the fact that that the MPE forgoes the mid resonator is a significant difference. Maybe ASD is clouding what you hear inside the car.

I've listened to videos of the GTS (inside cabin) and they sound nothing like the videos of MPE (inside cabin). Something is different in that exhaust or engine programming or combination of both perhaps. Possible that GTS has less sound deadening as well.

I had a friend with an MPE take me for a drive and we tried all modes:
-ASD sport+ with valves fully open
-no ASD with valves fully open

The sound wasn't that much different then my CP car (same modes and I have a valve controller), so I was underwhelmed to say the least.
