Glad I read this thread. Was looking for a good mid-pipe to pair with my MPE. Was considering VRSF, but from the sounds of it, their mid-pipe won't work. Am I correct?

It requires modification to fit the MPE. Any exhaust shop can get it installed on the MPE with less than an hour in additional labor.

You have to cut the MPE.

Given the issues with MPE cracking - the dealer may not honour warranty if you have molested the MPE in anyway.

So I would return to stock midpipe if anything happens at the muffler end before taking a cracking MPE to the dealer.

Not that the midpipe would have anything to do with the cracking - but it's risky when claiming warranty.

I went with the fabspeed x pipe for this reason. Easy on and off. No cutting of the MPE.

The cracking issue is with the muffler itself, the part that is cut is the additional section of pipe (that ultimately eliminates the resonator) is the section that is modified(to fit Fabspeed mids or similar). when it comes time for warranty, they just replace the muffler itself. Even with modifications, it's a relatively known issue with mods or not.

I agree but If you modify the exhaust itself in anyway, and the dealers sees it you may be in trouble.

Dealers have refused to honour warranty for people without a receipt of purchase. It's easy to see them do it for a secondary catless system.

Appreciate the info and you taking time to elaborate on the options. I would want to retain the remainder of my MPE warranty and really don't want to cut/modify anything to fit. Would rather keep things simple

I've looked at the Fabspeed mid-pipe, but honestly can't get over the Pontiac Firebird logo on their products. Price point is a little ridic too.

Could you share some insight with the forum. I think there are a lot of forum members that understand that your mid-pipe requires modification to fit the MPE, but aren't sure to what extent.

Does the VRSF mid-pipe require modification or the MPE or both?

Do you have pics of the modification or pics of the mid-pipe connected to the MPE?

Great price point on your products. Just hesitant to purchase because fitment is very unclear.

Most ppl with MPE would rather leave it unmolested or cut up. That would kill resale value or run into potential problem with warranty.

I'll try and get a MPE in the shop to compare to OEM. We may be able to redesign the mid pipe to accommodate both.

A better quality sound clip with OEM exhaust would be good. Interior and exterior?
