What gas do you for your M

Hi,

I'm being my M4 over from Dubai and wondering which gas stations do you use around here (Bellevue)?!

What's the recommendation anyway for M4s around here?!

Also in the article 4000 miles makes that much gunk? and 8k or 12k is double or triple that amount if using cheap gas? And the top tier one even at 50 or 100k miles it will always be clean? I used to be a stickler for the top shiet, but when I rebuilt old engines from the past the gunk was still there. Maybe it was before additives but shiet I'm not that old im talking 1990's. Anyways both seem to work, its like all the water brands, ones with vitamins will help but won't make you life longer or healthier cause you drank that crap! You still need preventive care like oil changes, engine flush, diet?

What are your thoughts on fuel additives? any articles about their legitimacy? Royal purple? redline? prolong? Zmax? lol

Your car will like 92 better. Pretty much most of those places do 92. Generally, the gas is the same. Most states mandate a specific recipe and the refiners will add a minor amount of chemicals (cleaning agents).

What is the most important is that the gas station you go to has clean tanks (new, not getting water, no truck pouring fuel at the time and stirring up the tanks).

don't run your car down low on gas either.

I buy costco when I am close and have my card and safeway when on my way home. Shell on weekends. It's based on what is close.

the reason I was asking is because in Dubai, I had 98 option, which I used all the time, that's the premium there. I'm not sure how this compares to 92 here.

It actually depends on the RON rating. but really you can't do better than 92 here and that will work fine in your car.

People seem to say dont run car close to empty but sometimes it happens and I don't understand the logic. The car doesn't know you are running low and adjust, it just runs until no gas to spark energy. That might do some harm but unlikely, oil is still lubricating all moving parts and the combustion chamber with no gas is like turning off the motor it just stops making power. The motor doesn't sieze and stop like an engine with no oil lubricating the engine, that will be very harmful to the integrity of parts. The fuel injectors tho keep pumping the same amount of fuel to the engine even when low so whats the logic or reason not to run the car low? Car's are fastest on low, less weight! If fear of running out of gas everyone knows that, but to constantly fill up with 1/4 tank makes the car miles per tank go down and you would fill up more often for no reason. Hate filling up so I wait till i need to not when I still have plenty of miles left in the car.

Shell, just because it's what I always used and I never had any issues with it. I'm too lazy to start all over with cheaper gas and see if the result is the same over my ownership cycles and my next car might very well be an EV or hybrid...

My understanding about the 1/4 tank issue is to keep the fuel pump submerged in fuel to keep it cool. Does it really matter? I don't know.

Strictly chevron, shell if I have to. Costco is great too, not the lines though.

Asked a truck driver that was pumping fuel into a chevron station and asked if the gas is real chevron since the truck had no branding. He said that they outsource tankers now so some trucks aren't branded. I asked cause always been curious and the certain station was always cheaper than other chevrons.

He said he just came from a chevron facility to fill his tanker and now into the station I was at. Cool part tho is he stated that costco is chevron gas and you can save more if i was a member.

Has anyone else heard or seen a chevron truck at costco? Kirkland signiture is always quality, just sucks they can't release the manufacturer of a particular item cause im sure it will hurt their own company sales.
