A company that weasels out of honoring their warranty when they can is a company that has lost its way imo. They make great cars for sure but I feel that the corporate ego is very high. That gets in the way when it's time to say 'yeah it broke we'll take care of it'

I think you're displaying fake outrage because the issue is currently being addressed by Porsche. How we got to that point is a waste of energy. Continue to waste your time on shoulda, coulda, wouldas. Show me a denied current GT3 warranty...

By "straight rolling race," you actually mean "straight," correct? Because that's pretty much all the M5 does. And even when you head to the local Starbucks, there are usually left and right turns involved. Is that fun? I just don't see why you'd need a bigass luxobarge just to blast from stoplight to stoplight. But maybe that's me. I don't like NASCAR either.

Of course they're addressing it. The cars are new to market. They have to as it's too glaring.

If circumstances were different, say 3 years in and 30K miles and a wheels falls off because of a failed center lock? They covered their ass in this example with a supplemented owners manual insert which states a log must be kept if you're tracking the car and you must change the hubs after xxxx miles. An exclusion of the warranty, after the sale.

In the coolant line issue the glue on the hoses are failing and this is going to be a huge issue. There will be a class action on this (if there isn't already) as Porsche simply will not incur the cost of dropping the engine in each and every car to replace the failed fitting. Screw safety, screw the customer, we got their money, we're the best and most profitable car company in the world.

Porsche owners are so privileged to have their cars lol...

So your saying the M5 needs to tow a lawnmower to make it a fair race then?

LOL! Like any of you M5 guys even know what day your lawn is mowed by your grounds crew.

Nevermind. I just read some of your posts over on the V-Box thread, and didn't know that the M3 guys were saying the new M3 could do 10 second quarter miles and such. Now I see that you and your ilk were alying in the weeds for the opportunity to slap the infidels down. So I'm all good, even though you insisting on bringing your touchdown dance to a thread where people are discussing 991's is a bit of overkill. But please, revel.

Be honest...you don't even own a lawnmower, right?

My opinion is that the Porsche 991 911 is one of the best sports cars that money can buy, and what I especially like about them is that you can spec them to be as luxurious as an M5/M6 if you want.

Anyways, I just wanted to proposition this. Does anyone here think that a new F82 M4 can beat a 991 C2S in a straight rolling race, stock for stock? Because if it can't then it'll have no chance against an F10 M5 same race.

Now on the track, I'd give up the M5 in a heartbeat for either the 991 C2S or the new M4, but neither of those can be everything a supercar sports sedan can be and vice versa.

The M5 in this video doesn't even have the Competition Package either.

Train lengths gentleman, train lengths.

Oh another trouble maker is bringing M5/M6 stuff to M3/M4 forum (JK )
I'm waiting for another "thanks for coming by..." stuff

Please refrain from pointless hypotheticals. Fake outrage. The end of the world is coming. When is this glue issue going to become huge? How many GT3s hit the market yearly? I think the issue is manageable. Unfortunately it took lawyers but that isn't the best argument against an iconic automobile like the 911.

Yeah fake outrage pffft.... One of a few reasons why I sold mine was the coolant lines, not knowing if or when they would douse my rear wheels. What difference does it make if 100 or 10K hit the streets? They should cover it before it becomes not only class action, but wrongful death suits.

There is a reason Sharkwerks produces coolant line replacements:

I had zero problems with my car. I sold it for a few reasons, but did not like how Porsche deals with warranty issues.

The 991 chassis is the single best chassis and car on the market short of hypercars like the 918/p1/etc. As Chris Harris said, it is as close to perfection as you will get. Thats why they charge their premium, they test and do R&D and perfect the car. Once you drive one, you're hooked. Just NOTHING else like it.
Plus they are the best built cars with the quality/fit/finish, but you have to pay for it. They are too distinguished a brand to lower prices and cheapen themselves. They build a superior car with superior performance and handling. No other 400 hp car in the world can touch a 991S.
