3M Carbon Fiber Wrap

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Anyone have any experience with the 3M carbon fiber wrap?
I ordered my M4 AW with sunroof last week, I like the two tone look of the carbon fiber roof but really not feasible for me as I am not using the M4 as a track car.

I am planning on getting the roof wrapped with the 3M carbon fiber vinyl for the look and buying the shark fin separately.

Anyone with any experience with the vinyl wrap?

Be aware it has a satin textured finish, which is quite a bit different than the smooth gloss clear coated CFRP OEM roof.

the wrap doesnt look anything like the oem cf w clearcoat. from a distance it actually looks like a regular matte blk paint, the weave is difficult to see.

+1. The CF wrap doesn't look very good. On the other hand, wrapping the roof gloss black looks really nice and that's what I would recommend.

also fyi, applying clearcoat over 3m cf wrap, makes it look solid black with no cf texture visible.

Don't do it. 3M cf wrap looks really cheap.
If you want contrast, just get regular black wrap.

I think the best option would be to buy the CF roof, and then saw trough it and make a hole. That would look less bad, and probably end up with some fame here in bimmerpost.

Umm no thanks on sawing through a cf roof! I probably will just go with a matte black wrap then

as long as its authentic 3M, you dont have to worry about fading. gloss blk vinyl is probably best looking for roof imo

You would of course have to install a trim piece around the ratty looking roof hole. Good option for Arizona.
