F80 M3 1/4 mile - 11.66 @ 119.24 mph (stock, DCT, 103 octane)

Hey All,

So I took my bone stock F80 to Atco Raceway last night and I was able to run a surprising 11.66. Keep in mind I used 103 Unleaded Octane, which I'm not sure it makes a huge difference. I thought these cars were supposed to be in the low 12s. Here's the video and the timeslip:

This is the best result. I also did:

11.84 @ 117.46 w/ a 1.855 60'
12.48 @ 120.26 w/ a 2.457 60'
12.48 @ 118.71 w/ a 2.345 60'

Is that stock rubber? Your 60 was good, if I recall better then what most are putting up. That's a sticky track.

Also what launch did you use? Was that launch control or done by feel?

Atco is, to my knowledge, the fastest strip in the U.S.
The track setup, it's sea-level environment, and other factors conspire to continually result in Atco slips being the fastest records. If a tuner wants to make a big splash, they go to Atco.

The 119mph is completely consistent with the power this car is putting down. The 11.66 is a fluke, albeit an outstanding fluke

How high can you set the RPM in launch mode? Slicks and 4k and you're talking some serious numbers. Impressive run.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe 4K is max. I'll confirm next time i drive the car.

Man... you clearly know how to drive or that LC does wonders... a 1.76 60'? lol

The speed in the 1/8th is so so... but it's obvious the car gains massive top end in the 2nd half.

But do you also think we will see 11.5-11.6 second 1/4 mi runs. I don't. Either way, marginally better results won't cause a massive back pedal of my primary conclusion. I do think it is possible that the car is a bit under rated. However, no way it is putting down 400+ whp. A 5% under rating (allowed by EU law) and a 15% loss will give right around 380 whp. I think that is a pretty reasonable upper limit. That is 446 crank hp...

Best example I got, look at the C7 corvette, consistently dynos 400-415rwhp and similar torque. Rated from Chevy at 460hp/465tq. The car is just under 3,300lbs and traps 116-120 (best 11.6@120)... How does a F8X M3/M4 trap the same but weigh 200-300lbs more and have 425hp/405tq...if its not underrated...
Damn I was off a hair. Nice run!

You beat me to it! I was going to take my car to Atco when it arrived and post the results. Nice numbers!

Will someone please invite the "spreadsheet racers" into this thread so they can start pontificating as to why these results are physically impossible and the OP is full of it, lol.
