On the stock oem map, I’m not showing an option to edit the CEL/cat. Others have mentioned being able to change burble/cat option with the stock map (not stage 0). Please advise thanks!

The throttle on 3rd gear between 4K-5K RPM sputters a great deal. You can hear the induction noise cutting in and out rapidly. I'm not sure if it's a result of missing the WI system or just my 6MT or something else. The tune sounded good at least. The burbles on the GTS is perfect imo. CS tune still feels more linear though. I'll stick with the Stage 1. It seems PTF has done more work on Stage 1 to work well with 6MT cars. |

There's a couple different ways to map the car. 1) Take the full 4MB readout flash it to the car ( non zcp -> ZCP ) while patching the ROM necessary to prevent the ZCP FSC check. This will also update the software ver from whatever the stock car has to the 4MB bin 2) take your original ROM sw ver, and take the "calibration" section of the 4MB readout flash and apply it to your original ROM. 3) The manual way, same applies to the BM3 editor. Some people only take the known calibration changes from the tables they have available and apply it to the ROM. This is the easy round about way to apply 1 & 2 together. This however will miss hidden tables / rom data that may have not been yet defined to properly account for the factory BMW calibration. Also some people match calibration from other ROMs and mis-match it on other sw versions... this is not exactly best practice as there are subtle differences in the rom versions where calibration might not effectively take. Fun fact. The base btld, and program data are all the same between the cars. It's the "calibration" section that is different. 2nd not so fun fact: I've seen some tuners take the inappropriate stock map and apply it on cars that don't fit, or tune off of it. This is one of my pet peeves. ( eg DCT mapping on 6MT car )

Anyone have an idea on how to remove the rev matching feature in the GTS tune, also looks like this is standard on Stage 2. I cant seem to locate the field to turn this off, bc I think it's very sloppy compared to stock and I desire to shift on my own.
Do I need to create a support request with PTF? Last edited by BoxKing; 06-23-2018 at 04:43 PM.. |

If you're a visual person like me, watch this vid. It's pretty good. I didn't need a battery charger. But I drive daily and my battery was charged up after a long drive. First unlock and flash took about 5 min or so. Subsequent flashes take about 2 minutes. |

no. it will stress your turbos, boiling your blinker coolant, which causes the crank hub to spin in its own grave, finally grenading your engine.

No need for a battery charger unless your car is a garage queen. Takes 5 minutes (seat belt on, lights and all other accessories off). I suggest running the "Online Recode" right after any flash... takes another minute to do after the flash is done, and it will clear any unwanted codes that were not removed during the "OTS tune flash".
