I agree. I drive in D2 90% and the GTS flash smoothed everything out. No more harsh 3-2 shift and the shifting is instantaneous, whether up shift or downshift. This is how BMW should have programmed all the DCT's.

Agreed. No side effects other than wanting to switch gears all the time
Not sure if it causes more wear to the transmission but it seems healthier since it's smoother |

I get it too from time to time, especially in sport or sport+, tranny in any level. Just feels like the car is downshifting and it can be jerky. I have 2800 miles on my car and honestly I'm just used to it now. I had an Audi S4 previously and the DSG in that honestly felt completely different. The Audi felt more like a conventional automatic, very smooth. The M3 feels like it's a manual transmission (I've owned 2 manuals previously) without the clutch pedal.

It's all just a preference thing so there's no right answer, but I guess I didn't get the M4 for it's smoothness, rather for its sport qualities, and "jerky" feels aggressive and sporty to me.
I like my car to be a vicious bitch. Pro Tip: that quality isn't as appealing in wives. |

F80 M3 ZCP 3rd to 2nd has quite a bit of jerk when decelerating with no throttle. I'm still running in the car but this shouldn't cause the jerk.
I believe this is a problem carried over as my E92 M3 ZCP also has a 3rd to 2nd gear jerk. |

Do you guys ever feel that life, much like this thread, is a merry-go-round and you have so little energy you just can't even?

yea it jerks, 2nd week with the car, and i feel its quite jerky. (not my first DCT, came from a GLA45 AMG, which was buttery smooth shifts in town traffic)
Yesterday coming in fast and exiting a roundabout, i lifted off my foot and it jerked back and forth 3-4 times, Traction control came on as well. Still getting used to it, certainly very diffrent to my 335i autogear box, very diffrent to my GLA45 and Mk5 GTI gearbox |

Just wondering if it is a transmission jerkiness, or if unknowingly you are jerking on/off the accelerator a little bit. If I am not smooth in first or if road is not smooth mine will jerk in first because accelerator is very sensitive. You can always bring in for service and have it looked at. Good luck. |

And what about.. First run in the morning (colder morning) and if you start moving and first change from 1st to 2nd gear ( in D or S - just first change, later is ok)? Do you hear or feel bang / hard jerk?

I think, that first gear change is better if: start moving, than depress gas pedal, change gear manualy and again slightly press gas pedal.
If I drive in D, even if slightly moving I can feel hard jerk, but just for first change (later is ok and I think that jerky change from 3 to 2 also gone, - I have 10.000km / 6.000 miles). |
