Awron is fully compatible with the ESS E-Tronic.

P3 is read-only off the OBDII port. I am not sure how it would mess with any piggy back tune. I am no electrical engineer, but my computer sciences background tells me that a read-only device would not be interfering with anything.

Not to hjack Far's thread, and damn that AWRON gauge is pretty. I chose the P3 for the following reasons:

1- took me 10 minutes to install on the side of the road
2- nice big letters to read, because frankly, I can't read the AWRON gauge when I am racing. It takes too much of my attention.
3- I only wanted the boost, AFR and EGT function since I am running a tune; everything else is cool, but not useful to me.

So, depends on what you are looking for.

It definitely can depending on what address is used. I haven't heard of any issues yet, but we don't see many P3s on this side.

I was told since piggy back tunes trick the ecu, the proper boost levels are not really known by the ecu, and then you get false readings.

Oh of course. But would have that with any monitor using only OBDII port.

You can get an analog boost reading through an optional boost tap with the p3 gauge that would easily solve this issue.

True. But I have not looked into it to see if it's possible with the F8x platform since we now have an electronic waste gate.

Ok so I bought an m4 with the Awron gauge already installed and it needs an update. Any tips on how to find where the usb cable is hiding? I felt around under center console on passenger side but no luck. I don't want to tear the car up if I don't have to. Any help appreciated!

It depends on how it was installer routed the lines. You will need to pull the dash trim and trace the cables coming from the Awron connector.

Cables are not long, so it should be relatively simple.

Very noob question, but what happens to the airflow when the device occupies the driver side vent?

It is directed to the remaining vent.

So total air flow is the same but the driver would loose the direct flow from his right side? How does it feel in super hot days or super cold days? I really like this product but concerned about the potential reduction in cooling/heating comfort. Thank you.

Exactly correct. The air doesn't disappear, its just rerouted.

They are correct, even with the wife in the car (and she loves the AC) All I do is direct the driver side vent and the second middle vent if she doesn't need it and everything is all good.

I just got JB4 installed. Should I expect any issues? Anyone have the original vent for sale in case I need to go back to factory vents from the Awron?
