Canadian SO/SS M4 with lip surgery

Hi all,

Thought I would share some photos of my M4 with M performance front lip, without the Carbon Fiber front splitters.

The fitment does show, but not terribly bad given you do not color match it with your car. The fitment shows about 3/4 inch at the thickest part and tapers off to the side.

Let me know if you have any questions. I did not install it myself, but was watching/assisting the technician; thus, I have some clue what to do. We took about 2.5 hours, but quite a bit was spent on figuring out the German instructions (they were in English... so it wasn't a translation issue. It was more of a "trying to understand drunken German instruction" issue). So, knowing what to do, it should take about 1.5 hour with appropriate equipment.

Love this! I can't stand the hideous look of any splitter/cover over a stock bumper. IMO anyway. This looks great!

It looks good, but I have a feeling that gap would end up annoying the hell out of me. I'm leaning towards the Status Gruppe lip currently.

RKP only comes in carbon fibre as far as I know, and costs about 4x the price.

There are plenty of after market front spoiler that will work great and looks amazing on these cars. However, I want to keep mine BMW OEM parts, so this is the only option if I don't want the "hideous" splitters. Hobbination

Further, I am looking for a non-CF look, so even if I get CF parts, I will probably paint it black.

The other option and potential in the future, is that I will do a full wrap on my car. When I do that, I will get the guys to wrap the lip in glossy black and I think at that point, they can cover the fitment / gap.

So this is the standard M lip in plastic that BMW produces right? And it can be mounted w/o the splitters? Think it's a yes to both but trying to confirm before I do this exact setup. Can't afford a $6000 carbon lip so this one seems a winner

Or you could do this for $500

PS: I still have the OEM sill but never installed (was given misleading info back in Sept 2014 in respect installing w/o the splitters). Might consider the CF splitters in the future as I think they actually blend really well with the MG body color ... likely only if I get a very good price deal on the splitters but have to say super happy with the LightWeight lip.
