My Alpine White F80 - 1 Week In

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
So 7 days later, I could not be more thrilled with my somewhat whimsical decision to trade in my 2008 E90 (with only 19k on the odo) last Saturday. I was browsing some local (Houston) dealer sites on 6/23 and saw a F80 in North Houston. Surprised that there were actually units for sale, I called the dealer to see what the story was (launch car) and said I would stop by that Friday evening to look at the car (figured it would actually sell by then). For whatever reason it did not sell by that Friday, so I figured that was a pretty good sign. Made my way up to the dealership and when I arrived, it was in the showroom (behind velvet ropes, no less). When they started it up (indoors) I knew right then/there I would be buying it. All in all, a great buying experience. I got $36K for my E90 (which I thought was a pretty fair deal) and then also got $1,500 off of sticker. Completely different car than the E90 - better in all the important categories.

Let me know if you guys have any questions. A couple of pics attached.

ya good deal on trade, my e92 was 74,500 new 2011 i got trade estimate other day 35k.i declined and i put it on craigslist and it sold for 42k by end of week. i know sounds crazy but i think I'm going to buy from another dealer since they lowballed me, or lowball them on an offer.

$35k is ~$10k to low on trade-in. Dump the dealer. Whoever got it for $42k got a steal unless you are above the 50k warranty miles or the car is thrashed or painted pink or something.

Congrats! How do you like the black wheels? What options do you have?

Also, would you please click the link below to go to the options and packages survey thread and submit a survey entry for your new M3? Thanks.

No doubt, that dealer won't be able to sell that car for more than that.

AW F80 is a great Choice! Naturally I am partial since it's also my car but the M3 just looks stunning. Enjoy!

I would have waited longer to get more for the trade in car in craigslist sale.

Yeah, come on! More pics, tell us the options and compare it in some detail to your e9x which you've been driving for 6 years!

I'd also be interested in hearing the "daily grind" details ... the boring stuff nobody seems to write about. Like:

* are the cup holders better? I use mine for coffee and there are constant spills even with stoppers, etc.

* Seats - I love the e9x thigh extensions and the side bolsters ...

* MMI / Nav - better worse, thoughts?

* ergonomics - better worse?

* technology ... etc etc

You shouldn't of posted if you didn't expect to be blogging

Basically! I just beat everybody else to the punch since that's the common theme in every thread.

P.S. I'm glad you got it. I was starting to think my subtleties were being overlooked.

Was this the white on on 1960 @ 45 at BMW North of Houston?

I saw it two weeks ago when I put my ED order in, looks beautiful. It actually has me thinking about going AW on my order vs the Austin Yellow I've spec'd out. I have another week or two to change it.

September 29th ED pickup for me

Longest 10 weeks of my life coming up....lol....
