Best route- Welt-Castles-Frankfurt

Need help from ED experts- I have limited time for September ED. Pickup Wednesday and drop off frankfurt Friday. i would like to go from Welt to Neuschwanstein castle (I have always dreamed of seeing this) and then to frankfurt for drop off. What is the most scenic best driving route? Thanks!

Low hanging fruit is the Romantische Strasse.

Google it. It is filled with castles and fairy tale villages. I've been to most places along that many times. All are super cool.

Not much time OP. Head down south to see the castle after pickup then go to Rothenburg ODT the next day (Thursday). That's about all your gonna be able to do.

Not hating, I know everyone's got different schedules and obligations, but you get 2 weeks with the car, why only 2-3 days?

I dont know OPs situation however I know of some people that get higher end cars like the M6 and M5 who literally just fly up for Friday to pick up the car and drop it off on Saturday or Monday and fly back because it?s cheaper than trying to pay normal US price. They usually either dont care for ED, have done it already, or are too busy and knock it out during a work trip.

No worries- totally understand your question. Just personal and work obligations I have limited time. Still saves me money and fun trip!

If your schedule is tight and you really want to do Neuschwanstein, below is what you can do.

Schedule your pick up time on the very morning, like 9:30am and skip the factory tour, you will be able to do Neuschwanstein roumd trip on your delivery day.

Then next day, drive and stay at Rothenburg. On Fridat, drive to Frankfurt and drop off.

What are you planning to do after visiting the two castles? If you have anything planned to do over there, you could stay night near castle. However, for me, I would prefer a day trip to the castle. This way I don't have to pack my luggage in the morning of my delivery day since I will be driving back to Munich after the castles.

Just a reminder, if you are planning to do the castle tour of Neuschwanstein, you may want to pre-purchase the ticket in advance. The line do get crazy long there. I arrived at the Neuschwanstein around 9:30am, and there were a lot of people in the line already.

Like other have said, take the Romantische Str from castle to Rothenburg ob der Tauber for a day. Then continue your trip to Frankfurt for drop off.

Here's what I would do... Autobahn, Nürburgring, and more Autobahn! But I would also do the following:

Wednesday - Neuschwanstein
Thursday - Black Forest/Schwarzwaldhochstraße
Friday morning - Heidelberg/Heidelberg Castle
Friday afternoon - drop car off in Frankfurt
