You have to push very hard at some dealerships to get that mythical invoice. They really won't believe you unless you have it written down as proof.

I'm literally going through the same process at the moment and even with my connections through family and a dealer that considers me family they weren't able to fully match what I have found outside of them. They said it is ok if I went somewhere else so I am probably going to do so, even though I feel really bad doing it.

I'm in the SGV area btw, super Asian :P

+1 for Jeremy S. Few yrs ago I bought a used 335i convertible from him... really down to earth person.. I still keep in touch w/ him

+1 for David A. @ Steve Thomas. Didn't buy my M3 or M4 convertible since I'm still debating on my spec.

Once I'm ready.. I def will take my business to these guys.

Out of state?

I see everyone in this thread is out west. How would buying from Steve Thomas BMW work for a customer from MA?

You can get it shipped cross country for ~$1000 but you should be able to get similar deals from NY/NJ dealers. Shipping/traveling costs will be much cheaper.

Encinitas BMW is one of the worst dealership in the country when comes to pricing. I'm very skeptical you got you car for invoice + 300. Jeremy is maybe nice guy bur their management sucks. JMO

there is also other option besides shipping the car that a buyer can take advantage of some of which could be cheaper then shipping the car. These options would vary depending on the buyer and the location obv.

I bought my M5 from a NJ dealer and the car was delivered to a San Francisco dealer. But that was 17 years ago.
I asked my sales guy about it (for my 18' M3) and they said they are no longer offering courtesy delivery.

Yes but that's up to the receiving dealer to decide if they even want to accept it. Another option, don't think it was mentioned, would be doing a performance center delivery down in SC. The cost is free other than getting yourself down to SC to pick the car up and drive it home.

That's a bit of a trek from Boston. I guess it'll depend on how the numbers shake out.
