Did yours just arrive in Halifax on the 11th? Just curious if turnaround could possibly be that quick to get the cars sent out to the dealers.

Hate to tell you this but expect your car to sit in Halifax for around 3 weeks before loading on rail. I will keep an eye out though.

mine came on Independence II as well. Yas Marina Blue! what color is yours VZO? I hope you told your dealer to mark the car as sold and put a rush on it. This is what I did with my Sales and she said BMW has done that for me. ETA Sept 3rd....as oppose to sitting there for 3 weeks + 2 weeks of transportation = Mid/late - Sept

I guess I really need to talk to me sales guy to make sure that its put on priority and marked as sales. My sales guy didn't respond to my recent email and I didn't see him when I went for my service yesterday. If he happens to be on vacation is there someone else I can talk to? Do I get the general manager? Would he even give a **** ? lol?

Or should I speak straight to bmw canada?

When my SA went on holidays, I contacted the Sales Director and he did the leg work to track down the car's status and get the car marked for priority delivery. But remember, I called him after 4 weeks of nothing visibly happening. If you're in the normal 2-3 week wait range, you may not get much "attention".

PS - when I placed the order, my SA provided his and his Sales Director's contact information and introduced me to the SD. You should be getting the same.

Oh - and should have mentioned - you'll get nothing from calling BMW CA. The don't seem to know anything about delivery across Canada.

Try to talk to Sales Manager or something. They should be able to help.

Don't waste your time with BMW Canada. All they will tell you is your car arrived Halifax and anything beyond this point is in the dealer inventory which the dealer can give you more information about. Those are the exact words I got from BMW Canada.

Hey bud your car is now showing on CN. Did you tell your dealer to put a rush on it? Because if I remember correctly your car got to Halifax not too long ago right?

holy crap thanks a ton for letting me know! Maybe I won't have to wait till Mid September after all. Who knows. Anyways, I called the dealership today (time of this post - about 12 hours ish?) and the sales manager told me that my regular sales assistant was indeed on a vacation. Anyways, I told him about the situation and he said he wants to get the car as soon as I do and that he made sure it was set as "sold" with top priority. (not sure exactly his words, don't recall but he made it sound like it was ALREADY marked as sold and set as priority rather than doing it on the spot for me, at least that's what I got from it)

Anyways it is great to hear my car has boarded. Its only been 5 days, not THAT bad! But this doesn't mean that the car is actually in transport, just that its been acknowledged within the Canadian National Railway system right?

edit: in the phone call, the sales manager did say that I'd prob be looking at a mid sept delivery though. :/ He also said that if I am scared about the residual dropping I can always sign the papers early (not sure how that works). (its a lease)

Only 5 days in Halifax? Your car is probably the fastest one on rail so far. Once it shows up on CN it generally moves the following day (which I just confirmed and it is on the move). Where in Canada are you? Victoria? If so estimate 14 days to Vancouver then whatever time to Victoria (this part I cannot help because tracing is only good up to Vancouver).

I guess mine is getting to Ottawa by truck and not by CN. The BMW tracking # says its in transit already. Looks like we've had a pretty quick turn around for our cars.

BMW Canada wouldn't know the status of the vehicle once it arrives in Halifax. They will ask you to contact your dealer because it is now their inventory. I would double check with dealer as well to confirm.

BMW Canada doesn't know anything.
