Started to p*ss me off too. I much prefer the videos they play at the dealership which show track driving capability and not just senseless tyre destruction. There was so much of it in this video that it made Chris Harris look well behaved. |

You seem to think the E9X M3 was perfect which it was not. |

So Porsche has both EPS and not so good sounding engines yet their models are universally heralded as THE track cars. (the very same things you think are negative about the F8X)
Can't have it both ways. |

I've spent time with the Cayman not a 911 and I don't know how it compares to non-eps Porsches but I'll get to drive my M3 back to back with the M4 which will make it easier to compare the feelings.

no car is perfect, and no car ever will be a perfect, 100% satisfactory vehicle.
Good review, i totally agree and many car guys would agree with the last minutes of this video. Everything else is perfect, but that M's "extra one yard beyond" isn't really present in this F80 M3. yea yea turbo, efficient, torque, power, speed, handling, who doesn't have that these days, especially 2012+ new sports cars...

Pretty much anyone who drives a 335i M Sport can spring to an M3.My 335i xDrive M Sport stickered at $62k. M3 money. But if believing otherwise makes you feel better, then by all means. Infact, I sold my e92 M3 because I prefer to have an xDrive car. An xDrive e90/92 would have been a no brainer for me. As things stand now, I might still have hard time justifying an f80 M3, even if it were xDrive. It's a glorified 335i.Especially since BMW has since reprogrammed the f30 steering to be awesome. I'm sure the M3 will prove to be the better car overall, but the delta between the series cars and M cars seems to be ever shrinking, with the n55 i6 engine being utilized in both. It just doesn't move me. I don't desire it yet, or "want" it. Hopefully a test drive will change my mind. And if you haven't been in a 335i M Sport, you truly have a weak point of reference. But marketing can be very powerful to convince you otherwise. Last edited by Falafel Combo; 05-10-2014 at 08:06 PM.. |

Go back and read my other posts about "competition" engines in BMWs. I'm not exactly uneducated about them. Try not to sound so condescending, ok? |

Don't even respond to comments like that. The fact he says something like that, in his mind he thinks the M3/M4 is expensive. Which in reality it really isn't, it is just a 3 series after all. They are going to be everywhere a year from now. We aren't talking about a MP4-12C.

I have to say I get tired of these "expert" reviews. To hear a guy go on and on about how amazing the car is, how powerful, efficient and effective the power train is and then complain about turbocharging is silly in my opinion. Frankly to me it is as irrelevant as someone telling me how much they like or do not like the styling. I would prefer that BMW would have found a way to make the HP, MPG and torque without having to resort to turbocharging but the reality is the world changes. By all accounts they have made an amazing power train and a car to match which at the end of the day is all that counts.
