OBD Unlock [No bench unlock Required] *** bootmod3 New Feature Release for the S55

Just in case I misunderstood all I need is the $595 bootmod3 to get started? Does that come with a off the shelf tune? And if I want a custom tune how does a tuner do that ?

I just got back from a trip and updated to all the latest and flashed Stage 1 as well and it was fine. Did you click the online recode button after your flash? They talked about that in the facebook group that some cars need it. Mine didn’t need it. I have burble and no lights or errors. This latest version of the OTS is actually the BEST I’ve ever driven. I went out for about an hour running some errands. Its super linear and very controllable!

no i didn't do that, because i don't have any check control errors.
I only wanted to flash stage 1, but it failed at the beginning (after checking some connections, it started to flash stage 1 an than I get the internal error).
during the flash process, i got drivetrain malfunction on the I drive, but this disappeared when i turn ignition off and on again.

For me, that version of the app was misreading a dme locked flag and was attempting an unlock before flashing on an already unlocked dme. This sounds like it could be what's happening to others. The latest version has now fixed that issue.

The solution provided to me was to go to the About tab and "force dme unlocked" which tells the app an unlock is not necessary when you flash. So when I reflashed after that the dme woke back up and completed normally.

Spot on, also happened to me as well every time I flashed was doing a DME unlock, got in touch with Dzenno and again all sorted.
my car was intially bench flashed. I also went to About TAB, I dont have a "force DME unlocked" tab if memory serves me correct only a DME is unlocked.

Yup they added that today in 0.9.83 thank god!
We're now on 0.9.86 a few more tweaks/fixes/updates just went through !!

Man PTF is a workhorse!!

oh believe you me , I am up to speed to BM3
seen this platform progress since last year February my good man.

with BM3 trying to do so many things it's bound to have some problems here and there.
if it was a simple flash and be done, trust me there would be zero issues

Did the unlock and flash this morning with a buddy. Seemed way too easy and straight forward. Have driven it for a bit and no issues (so far). We both flashed OTS stage 2 both 6MT and this thing moves out. Power is so linear and strong compared to JB4.

However, I've noticed my burbles to be "quieter", but I hear there will be a release to change that or increase overrun later.

Anyway, so excited and happy I did this. Car feels awesome!

Edit:

We drove our cars for about 15 mins, hammered on it couple of times. Hooked up cables to each others cars by battery.

I had an error a couple of times, but just restarted the agent on the 3rd time and it worked perfectly.

Just curious, would it be a special request to have PTF remote in through Teamviewer to perform the unlock the first time around? Just thinking Murphy's Law applies to any simple task I've ever tried.

Got a couple of questions.

1. What is the DME file used for?
2. If I do an initial DME read out and flash and unlock and then I do a relic by flashing the newest Istep to my ECUs will I need a new DME readout?

DME is your computer that controls the engine. You don’t need to pull these DMEs anymore on these cars.

I’m surprised that the DME readout is only 4 MB’s.

So if I unlock and flash and then have th dealership update my whole car I am expecting the unlock and my tune to be gone. Will I need to do another DME readout so that ptf has the updated software version that is on my car?

Is the DME readout done automatically if bootmod3 sees a different software version than they had before.
