Bmw should take inspiration on this awesome M4 render

It is huge? Wider rear and front is better on track, but it need to be lot of ligher than E9X, just make it weigth under 1600kg. Basic 335 F30 weigth is 1600kg? And it´s wear steel parts on chassis, so maybe 1500kg is possible and less weigth = better fuel economy and better driving excperience, win to win situation.

It is not a problem that it is bigger if it is lighter.

Anyway, get over the f*cking M3 badge. Most have really no clue what it represents or means. Even if M4 was called M3 it is no more an "M3" for many obvious reasons.

Levi +1. I think Chinese markets are very important today and It´s better to change the names more logical, the same time Bmw kick on real enthusiasm. Is intresting to know how many drivers who buy new M3 know history on Bmw M GmbH or what is e30 M3 and what make that car is so special?

Heard this plenty of times when the 6 series was in testing. its not huge, maybe a tiny big larger than the E92 but nothing drastic. if its a nice car who cares if its "huge" the GTR is a huge, heavy looking car, the lambo is a long but low looking car larger than the 4 series, still a sexy beast. it is definitely bigger than the f30 3 series, probably the reason why they gave it a higher number this time around. now we have the 1 series to 7 series. what they need to concentrate on is making an M7 for god sake.

Like if people are seriously going to look away at the dealership just because of an M4 badge, remove the damn thing once you buy it, problem solved.

Hey, I have nothing against the M4 badge. I really don't care. All I care about it how it drive and how it looks. And what you did is just right. I'm just sick of the badge moaning.

Your PS is just mind blowing. I really thought it was the M4, just thought it would be impossible when BMW hasn't even revealed the M3. It's the most realistic PS I 've ever seen.

You should also include an M gearknob instead of the standard one. Small detail, but beautiful car overall. You have my sold.

Buy why ruin what's probably the most noteworthy model in BMWs history?
The (M)arketing folk have gotten too powerful at BMW, and the real drivers/engineers are obviously taking a back seat
This is not an icon
This is a souped up 335, with a higher profit margin than the current generation
Plain and simple
Share as many parts as possible
And stick in the M badge, and charge more
This was tested with the 1m, and now it's coming to fruition in the M4

Oh and you can't really claim any originality, not when BMW is ripping off the idea of the 3/4 series from Audi, after the success (and higher prices charged for the A5)

I guarantee you the design team that made the E30 M3 were not thinking of profit margins, they were making the best possible car
THAT'S what made it an icon
I understand all points but I disagree about Audi comments.
BMW is the only notable manufacturer with number naming system going back to 70s.
BMW was the only to differentiate sedans and coupes numbers as well, 6 series and 7 series, originally from the New Six in the 60s

Audi numbering system only goes back to the 90s and of course they made numbers higher than BMW to make them look better lol; ex. A4 vs 3 series, A6 vs 5 series.

Sure, in compact segment, 3 series coupe was never called 4 series, unlike 6 series but its not hard to tell that the decision was due to the legendary E30 M3.
BMW is trying to take the next step and start a new legend and I absolutely think they are off to a spectacularly amazing start with this pure sex

yeah im sick of the M badge moaning too and how "Huge" the car looks. once its out people change their mind real quick. Bad Critics...you cant live with them...you cant kill em.

on that note, i figured making a render in a car show atmosphere usually gets peoples attention very fast as you can see in less than 2 days theres already 50,000 views, plus the 20,000 + facebook likes.

The 4-Series is nothing more than a 3-Series coupe with a different name. The only thing "different" will possibly be the options but other than that, it's going to be like the E92 and E90. Also, rumor has it that pricing is going to stay about the same as the E92 so I don't know how different it's going to be since BMW isn't really known for giving bang for buck. If you think the 4-Series is going to be this coupe that's going to look pretty, more luxurious, with power than the 3-Series to establish this new line for BMW, I think you're going to be disappointed.
I think 3 coupe was always different than 3 sedan.
They just didn't call it 4 series because of "3 series" and "M3" name.
Mercedes sedans and coupes look the same, similar to our 6 series coupe and gran coupe.
Starting with previous generation, E90 and E92 looked completely different and they wanted to change 3 coupe to 4, but held out.
And 3 coupes sold for about $5k more expensive than 3 sedans.
4 series will give it that "officially more luxurious, desirable, up marketed" look and I think they'll definitely be seen as different in the similar way we look at A4/A5

couldnt have said it better myself. that is exactly the case here which alot of people dont understand. the bigger the car the higher the number, plain and simple.

[QUOTE=bmwMcrzy;13365288]Ya, what you smoking????? Probably no more than $70K USD base MSRP

M3 Lime Rock edition is over $80k. I think the BMW will still have '14 M3 and I don't think that the M4 will cost less then the new M3. I hope not (since I like the look of the new M4) but will see.

Unfortunately an E92 M3 base is like $170k AUS here in Sydney so the F seris M3/m4 will be about $200k or more
Really feel bad for you guys. Wonder how much you guys make in Sydney?!

do you guys think the M4 will come with optional alcantara roofliner (like the M5/M6) and optional full leather (entire dash and doors covered in leather just like the M5/M6 again) ?
