Winter tires for OEM 513M 18 inch

Hello.

I want to mount winter tires on my 513M wheels, which of course have a staggered setup.

Do I buy the same staggered tire sizes as my Michelin PSS? Or do I buy what tirerack recommends, which is a square setup of 255/40/18? Wouldn't they stretch badly on a 10 inch rear wheel?

Summer sizes are 255/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear.

I'm new to this dedicated winter tire game and want to do it right.

Thanks in advance.

Bump. I have the same question. Debating this or going with another separate set for snow, getting rid of the stock 18's and picking some 19 or 20 for summer next year.

no they're fine. I've been running 255/40 Blizzaks on all four wheels for two seasons with no issues.

No. Why would you do that? If you think it's too low, you're better off driving something else in the winter. I pickup up a 4WD Honda Element 4WD beater for those winter days that there's too much snow. BUT if it's just cold, I was considering the same thing as the OP, but ended up getting a set of 640M 18" wheels with winter tires (255/40) for those days that I could actually drive the car. I have (a ZCP car) 20" wheels for the rest of the seasons.
