They all suck and they're boring. Estoril Blue II doesn't look anywhere near as good as Le Mans Blue(My favorite blue of that generation) or even Interlagos. None of the colors are M specific.
That's your opinion

You're thinking American market only.
Both 2- and 4-series range starts with x20i (not available in US).
So 220i and 420i.

The M2 will also offer some limited surprises.

Every year progress in Carbon application will become evident. The new 7er and 5er will be the first BMW portfolio cars in volume but the next generation of BMW 3er and X3 will drop about 100KG thanks to additional Carbon application amongst aluminium , magnesium and hot pressed steel.
I NEED more M2 details!!! The suspense is killing me.
OMG.... M2 GTS?!?

No, we were talking about the early M2 prototypes roaming the streets of Garching.(see pictures bellow)

http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showt...1#post16381851

I saw a M2 two weeks ago in Munich... it was probably this test car bellow. It doesn't come thru in this photo, but the paint color was a sort of burnt Sedona Red. @Scott26 further clarified what the color looked like to him.

Your 4 series/ carerra chart is off IMO

M4 = C2S,
M4 GTS = GT3 RS (or GT3) = C63 Black series

Not really. C2S is faster and going by the reviews a better drivers car.

The new M4 GTS is going to have to better than the regular M4 by leaps and bounds for it to even have a fighting chance against a GT3.

Uh...the ///M stands for Motorsport. So, the M3/M4 is already BMW's answer to the GT3.

I suppose you could say a M4 CSL = GT3RS

The reality of course, is that the M cars are a very successful compromise by design. Too much luxury, tech (aka weight) to be considered true track contenders.

I do wish the M division would promote the M2 as a stripped, light weight & trackable street car...sub 3000lbs
+1 for the sub 3000 lb M2. I would buy one in a heart beat.

I could only wish for some sort of limited model in the us

I would definitely purchase it with a premium over the standard if it had significant Improvements

It makes logical sense that some track-focused iteration gets built, to quash the criticism aimed at the luxury/performance trade-offs of the regular ///M series.
Hope y'all have deep pockets!

That would be so awesome!

IF BMW decides there isn't a market for it, they're nuts.

Sub-3000 pounds..? I would pay M4 price to have that M2.

It will never happen though. A 3200 pound M2 would be a victory, but a 3400 pound M2 seems more likely to me given that the M235i tips the scales at over 3500 pounds.
